What more arguments do you need to say No?

It wouldn't be as bad if people told their story with truth. A franchise with an entitled fanbase of jersey throwers and management that mismanaged it until they got four 1st OA picks in six years, including being gifted a generational talent. It was so pathetic that the NHL had to change the draft lottery rules after that.

But instead, they make it sound like the Oilers persevered through adversity and worked so hard, and the fans are so supportive. I get that the media love a feel-good story, but they are creating false history with that narritive.

Im a grown ass man with grown ass problems. I don’t have the time or energy to hate on coworkers, friends, or family enjoying this. I certainly won’t lift my hands or loudly cheer for the Oilers, but will probably award them with something like this if they win….

I get the patriotism angle if you are a neutral fan or a fan from the east but there is no way I want the Oilers to win the cup. Their fans are already insufferable and it would get worse for years.

The only silver lining to an Oilers cup is looking at history if they win two in a row the Flames are guaranteed to make the finals the next season.

You I would suppose are not surrounded by Oiler fans nor do you face the very real prospect of running into one at any moment out there in the world, leaving a cafe with a most decadent blueberry crumble at your lips, ready to bite into it and fill your heart with music, only to see a two-legged horror in a disgusting orange-blue Oilers jersey, throwing your inner sanctuary into tumult.

I will say I've felt more conflicted than ever before in cheering for a fan base that chants "USA! USA!" by virtue of the heightened antipathy I feel towards the USA, their leaders having challenged my national identity and contributing / falling victim to the illiberalization (is this a word?) of democracy that's germinating and spreading around the globe. Me, though, I am not okay with Edmonton winning - not emotionally - but I am accepting of its possibility. I will refuse to let it ruin my week if it happens, though.
This hits it 100% for me. So much easier to not care when you arent surrounded by these clowns every day. Having them win will only grow the clown clan even further too. Pretty easy living in another country and not having to deal with that so I can see why you might be able to convince yourself that its ok, but its not.

I am not okay with anything Edmonton at all, much less them winning anything.

The only thing I am okay with about Edmonton is it being hit by an asteroid.

I only cheer for the Blue Jays because they are on my TV everyday not because they are Canadian.

If they instead showed the Mariners 162 I'd cheer for them.

Would anyone even notice if either scenario happened? The regular is like that aftermath.

They'd just eat the locusts as a local delicacy, complete and immediate annihilation is the only solution.

Here is a very shallow way to handle the finals. Come up with a dollar figure you would be happy to pay to see the greaser's lose. Put all that money on them in whatever sports betting app you prefer. That way if the worst case happens you get a payment in your pocket as a small consolation for the pain.

I hope I lose every single penny.

I'm okay with Edmonton losing after being outplayed in an embarrassing fashion and even further embarrassing themselves with childish antics and here is why:
