I am pretty optimistic based on how they handled it this year.
We have a team that is performing well above their talent level competing for a playoff spot, and we have two first round picks in the next two drafts. In the past management would have been fooled by the successs mirage and treated the picks like they were burning a hole in their pocket. A lot of temptation to spend for a playoff run.
But management they did not get stary eyed and spend. No trade dealine acquisitions. Even the big Frost trade was not that big, and did not sell the future to try and win now. I get that selling at deadline could have been nice (assuming good deals existed), but seeing this team resist buying and keep pieces for the future is a huge improvement.
Excited to see how they draft this year, keeping up rhe good drafting is going to be key. And we might even get a round of unexpected playoffs to enjoy too.
