Glad they didn't trade away any assets.
Sorry they couldn't help teams with retention.
OK with not trading Vets, given the contract control and alleged poor offers.
I wish they could have moved Vladar, or one of Coleman, Kadri, Backlund, Huberdeau who all kind of fill the same niche.
To do nothing with all the cap space, a low amount of quality immediate prospect, and aging veterans while standing on making playoffs with a clearly highly overachieving group feels like pretty poor management.
Hopefully we can call Kerins and Solo back up, and maybe give Stromgren and Kuznetsov an opportunity.
The Wranglers with just 1 win in the last 11 are dropping fast, many of the games aren't even close so I don't think it will make much of a difference for their playoff hopes.

That only happens if we fall out of race. We have to many forwards as is.

I personally dont see it that way. This year MAY be an outlier but maybe not, ride the cap space into next year and if this team continues to push for playoffs 2025/26 we can inject more top end talent on entry level deals (Parekh, Basha/Battaglia) then we make our move.
If this year was an outlier then we trade away (Raz/Coleman/Sharongovich) and be in a position to get high Draft fingers crossed McKenna
Conroy was/is very open about the plan and that this will be built the right way and that is through the draft.
Positives:
-Didn’t overpay for any tenured roster players
-Didn’t trade any draft capital for rentals
Negatives:
-Was unable to sell even one aging vet for a high return, despite many other trades with valuable assets changing hands.
-Didn’t acquire any younger players who’s age and contract status fit Conroys vision
-Team is trending towards a middling draft pick which will be sent to MTL
-Did not “weaponize” cap space for additional picks.
Could have been a worse TDL, but not by much.

I guess I’ll grade them a D for disappointing.. it was just boring and we all know where this season ends, and the next begins. Somewhere in the middle
I’m glad we didn’t get useless rentals. But I really want to lose some of the dead weight. Not that it’s easy to get rid of those players.
So I rate them
B: for boring
D: for disappointing
And C: for consistency
They didn't do anything stupid, which is good. They didn't do anything to improve the team for the future, which is not good. It's what I expected, though. Short term playoff hopes over long term Stanley Cup goals.
