I’m kinda like if you want 3 on 3 fine, make a 3 on 3 league full time.

And even 3 on 3 sucks with the fight to get and keep possession. Need a shot clock. Or you can’t exit the zone.

Or just bring back ties and do away with it.

Sharangovich rolled out there late and in OT means Huska doesn't think that guys like Zary are trusted in those situations.
I'd trust Zary a hell of a lot more than Sharangovich. That guy is as soft as butter.

3 on 3 is garbage, it's not real hockey. It's given the Oilers 9 wins... 9!!!!
Make that 10. Too bad there's no 3 on 3 in the playoffs, eh Grease Pigs??

Pretty mean trip playing the 1, 2, 4, 5 teams in the East and the 2nd best team in the West. Coming out of that with 6 points for this team is quite good.

It's just a small matter of bench management. All the coaches have to do is arrange it so that each team has two men in the penalty box all through OT, but none of the penalties are coincidental. Simple!

if you had told me the road trip had 4 more Flames points in it after that first period or so in Carolina I wouldn't have believed you

things get kinda interesting now- harder to look at a simple strength of schedule analysis as some of the bad teams have just gone next level tank and some of the big dogs have just gone nuclear

8 points in the first 7 games after that break and going 3-2-2 is a pretty good stretch considering the difficulty of the schedule coming out of the break.

Yep, give the guys credit. They kept their heads above water. The schedule from here on out is not actually that bad. Gonna be a dogfight for the final spot, but they can get it. Not going to be easy, but it's doable. They control their destiny.

Pretty great trip, 2-2-2 is quite respectable

Both goalies went 1-1-1

Opponents by overall NHL standings rank:
Vladar 2/3/4
Wolf 7/8/25

Expectation based on Flanes standings relative to opponents was obviously lower. That’s a murderers’ row

Funny to hear Steinberg and Wills today talking about the starters and thinking the Flames were going to give Wolf 4 or 5 starts on the 6 game roadie. Like they are new here

That’s not how you shelter a rookie

So, the Flames are 1 point up on the ‘Nucks, but they have a game in hand on us.

To be fair Huska himself said it...not exactly that but that they would be giving him the vast majority of the work. I think Wolf is fighting something...minor injury or sickness. Vladar playing decently lately also a factor.

2-2-2 on this road trip is awesome and not what I was expecting. We beat the Caps and held our own against the Stars, two very good hockey teams. Credit where credit is due.

Once again... Wolf's xGA/60 is higher than Vladar's, not lower. He's not getting easier starts, he's getting harder starts.

I know what the opponents' ranks are, but for whatever reason the Flames play much better defense in front of Vladar than Wolf. And that's been the case all season. Every time I've looked it up, it's been the same. Wolf is expected to be scored on more than Vladar is based on the play of the team in front of him.

With Wolf in net, the Flames give up more shots, more high-danger shots, more rush chances, and more rebound attempts.

I have to admit, I've really soured on Sharangovich. I think that next time he gets streaky, the Flames should look to move him. ( next season obviously)
