He’s referring to Trump. And since PK is an analyst for ESPN I’m assuming he means they’ll have him on as a guest? Or he’s just referring to Trump in general.

Either way, Aliu clearly is having none of it and it isn’t the first time PK has made comments that have led people to believe he’s MAGA.

You're right, but it's an outlet and people are looking for one.
It's like consumer bans on certain products or companies. Even that has the idea of meaningful action, more so than sport, but really it's not going to move the needle in the same way building a political movement does. It's politics thought consumption and consumer choice, or rather the patina of political action.

The political climate is definitely a motivator for fans, as we saw in Montreal. But I don’t think the players care.

I guess that's my point. Who cares if we win the game or not in the broader context of what is happening.

I care because I root for Canada. I have a hard time caring more because of the political stuff because the result is trivial to that.
