Rutherford isn't the GM. The trade was made by the other bozo, the one the POHO bozo hired.
You need a scorecard to keep track of all the clowns in that Volkswagen.

Boeser
Pettersson
Suter
Raty (RFA)
O'Connor
They don't have that much space - they have $25M (I believe), but have to sign 9 guys, including the above.
I would think Boeser and Pettersson would eat at least $14-15M of it.
Basically they will be able to bring everyone back, and round out the roster with a few low-cost players.

BTW, the buyout of OEL will cost them $4.77M in each of the next 2 years.
LOL

What an absolutely confusing day for the Canucks. Let it burn to the ground though!

This trainwreck is what I expected to happen up north when they brought in Kane and Perry. Wouldn't have picked the lockeroom bomb go off in Vancouver instead.
Maybe when enough of your organization is scum already, bringing more in doesn't disturb things, because it's just a way of life there.
Van seems to have a faction of honest players with good heads on their shoulders, and a clan of entitled ones who pile on their teammates and stir up drama.
Guessing that the guys shipped out for these underwhelming returns is them trying to clean out the mold.

But the Canucks have sewered the start on that with this second trade.
