The Miller deal I thought was defensible.

This is absolutely horrific for Van

I hate the Canucks but if he accepts the Lindell contract it will be a good move for them.

HE's 28 and has never shown anything that would suggest anything above average, never mind top 20 in the league.

Never heard of these PITT players that VAN acquired. Although am not familiar with several players in the Eastern Conference.

This is reminiscent of Daryl Sutters two day stint thst started with the Phanuef deal and ended with Kotalik. Hope it has the same effect on the Canucks as it did on that Flames team.

For a handful of games or even one season, sure. He's still top 20 if you aggregate the last 4 years.

Who ever mentioned January 31st is a horrible day for Canucks is right. That team is probably done.

Well, that's certainly a way to shake-up a team.

After the Flames' trade yesterday and Vancouver's trades today, I imagine the odds makers increased Calgary's odds at making the playoffs this year. I can't imagine Vancouver recovers from these moves.

Well it's basically impossible to criticize conroy now I suppose, comparing his trade to Vancouver. This is hilarious. Someone should do an hfboards ATL!

One thing the Canucks did was get rid of Heinen and Desharnais' cap hits for next season which is a cap savings of $4.25 mil for next year.

Both were signed on July 1st, 2024, so they may have paid to get rid of those 2 mistakes.

I wonder if this is the start of Pittsburgh's tank for McKenna?

This is what happens when you try to manage, based on stats - you trade 1sts (potentially a mid-round 1st) for guys like Pettersson.

I’ve got to admit the last few days have me questioning how closely I follow the league. Not a single trade has made sense for both parties. Perhaps I’m losing track of what is currently valued, but normally trades feel more balanced than they have recently. Bizarre…

I doubt I would do that considering the contract situation. But, if he accepts a Lindell or even a Weegar deal I think it's a good move.

Fair, but they still need to be replaced. I’m not sure they will end up much further ahead

This is absolutely terrible for Vancouver.

How somebody like Rutherford is still employed in this league is beyond me. One of the very worst managers in league history.
