Exactly. If I told you:

- you can draft a Vezina calibre goalie with the first overall pick.
- that goalie will be an immediate starter
- you will also have 4 first round picks in the next 2 drafts
- you will still have tons of cap space

I think every single person in this forum would say, “Cool. Let’s rock”

Just pretend that happened … and enjoy the ride.

The Flames have a chance every game that Wolf is in net. That's the reality with how good he is. Oh ya, he will play the entire next season as a 24-year old. We should have an elite goalie for the next decade+

Did the panel talk about Wolf at all? Or somehow segway his performance into a McDavid analogy?

This is why I said our window is opening up.

Wolf looks like they really thing.
Were going to have to build around him and if he keeps this up there's no tanking on the horizon.

It’s okay to cheer for Oilers tonight.

Flames wake up 3 points above playoff bar of Vancouver loses tonight. (And stl who is down 3-1 right now).

I didn't get to watch the game but I'm not shocked at all after laying two eggs in St. Louis they would find a way to beat the Jets.

Yeah, I still want them to lose. I just wouldn't be as annoyed as I normally am if they won.

Great game by Wolf, he is the real deal. Two goal scorers goals was all the Flames would need. Kinda hope they play Kuzmenko a lot more, whatever his warts are I feel like his upside is so much more than Duehr that it is worth it.

On the out of town scoreboard for those worried about not getting talent to surround Wolf

5th Round pick Luke Misa had 3 goals and an assist today. He is 10th in OHL scoring

1st round pick Zane Parekh had 3 goals and 2 assists today. He is starting to heat up in the second half.

Nobody else from the 2024 draft played today.

We can cheer to the very rare double loss where both team lose and are demoted from the league in disgrace.

Calgary quickly will become a destination for free agents because teams that have good goaltending and good secondary players like the Flames are always dangerous.

The thing Calgary needs most is a couple star calibre forwards of the calibre of Tkachuk and Gaudreau. How ever they can acquire them....

It's fun having a goalie again.

Yep, And he was taken in the 7th round, so clearly its possible to get elite players in other places than the top of the draft.

Didn't get to see much of the game, but Wolf sounded like he was a star, Kuzmenko scored, what's not to love!

No matter what the outcome is of that game. The Oilers will always be losers. It's only a question of if the Canucks lose the game too.
