It really felt like this game would be an automatic loss going in. The on-ice play basically agreed with it. However, the Wolf disagreed. Pleasantly surprised in this one!

Ok but with respect they were owned in their own end for 95% of the game and Wolf was incredible.

I mean, normally I would point out that beating the teams we should lose to, while losing to the teams we should beat is literally The Flames Way... this season, I would just say our outcomes are 100% linked to our goaltending.
We don't have the firepower to outscore poor goaltending, so we go as Wolf/Vladar go.

One of Kipper's best features was that he very rarely had a bad game. One of his other best features was how incredible he played in his next game after a bad one.
I see a lot of that in Wolf this season. Saw a lot of it towards the end of last season too, although I had to squint a bit first.

Whether fans like it or not I feel the Flames are going to have to build it up around Wolf. He is too good for a bottom 5 finish.
