If they’re all white and cisgender does that need to be pointed out too? Sheesh. What’s silly about referring to people as people?

The AHL has at least one female Linesperson, so it's likely just a matter of time before she (or another woman) gets a shot in the NHL. No reason for them to not get ahead of the game on this.
Well now, that doesn’t seem silly at all.

Did anyone else notice that after Weegar's goal SN posted the Score as 2-0?

I thought I missed something for a second there as I have it on my 3rd screen. But yeah, for almost 5 minutes the score was 2-0 Calgary.

Does Weegar's goal count for more because its on the mom's trip?

I did notice that

Sportsnet was busy making sure it was linespeople though you can’t expect them to get the SCORE of the game right when there is much more important stuff

There's nothing silly about referring to people as people. There is something very silly about altering long-accepted terminology to accommodate a hypothetical case in which someone might feel excluded by a legalistically narrow reading of the etymology of the term.

(Tell me, when NASA sends probes into deep space, do you object that they are called ‘unmanned’? Is it sexist to use the term ‘chessmen’ to refer to the pieces including the queen?)

These announcers sound like they'd prefer to be somewhere else.

Coronato will not miss that badly very often. Ouch, wide open net.

OTOH, who does it harm to make a little change in terminology. Are people so soft they can't handle it?
