Yikes. Maybe just me but doesn’t inspire much hope
Its day one of camp not game 7 of the cup final...and obviously the team was motivated for the preseason

If you need a massive motivational speech on day 1 of camp, then you're in the wrong job. Every player should be coming in hungry to start.

It's not like the movies, most people and coaches are like this.

He and Lombo need to become our bash bros this year.

If Lomberg could mentor Klapka through the year I think that would do wonders in regards to Klapka becoming a full-time NHLer. Klapka's game has already come so far, and staggeringly fast, considering we only found him a year ago. That's some great scouting.

When they mic up guys that just makes me want a PPV NHL option that does away with play by play and colour and has mics everywhere to just hear the game. Like name your price for that package, I am buying that. I think the NHL would make a killing off that which means they will never do it.

The Bonfire event was really great again this year. Lots of good info and interviews.

Here’s the full player Q&A portion.

If you don't like Kuzmenko, you should take a long look in the mirror, and re-evaluate your life choices.

Just loving this series, it's so good to go behind the scenes, see how the coaches work with the players, listening to them on the bench during games, so good.

Interesting that Conroy made the call to change Honzek's number to #29.

Also neat that he says he likes #43 for Klapka, but says they can talk about changing it too if he wants.

Yeah I didn’t know the GM could make that call. Interesting.

Hoznek wore 29 in the WHL and the Slovak league before that so it wasn't a stretch or anything. Ultimately the GM always has the final say in this sort of thing, but I'd imagine there was a discussion prior or Conroy took an educated guess in this instance. If Honzek has an issue with the number I'm sure it isn't written in stone before he hits the ice.

Yeah the league went away from stone lettering years ago.

Too heavy.

Right around when Lemelin came up with the feather light pads.

Walk through the prior weeks games, talk with a coach or member of management, talk with a player or prospect, update the minor league team and talk about a junior prospect and how their season has been going.

Super easy to do and would draw viewers.

Has to be better than watching the same top 50 plays of whatever being broadcast at least a dozen times every week.
There used to be daily updates on TSN's "That's Hockey" for every Canadian team.

Is that no longer a thing?

My son's girlfriend is a huge Canucks fan, and Kuzmenko remains her favourite player.
