I've never seen that many people be that quiet for that long. So proud of this city and its fans. And incredibly impressed by the Flames org for how well they've done under incredibly tough circumstances.
Really well done by the Flames, and that rendition of Johnny B Goode gave me the chills.
Also just amazing how respectful and quiet everyone in attendance was, although I wish whatever helicopter that was would have stopped circling around.
Maybe I'm crazy but I thought it would actually be busier with more people.

Oh man, I have been fighting it for days but the Backs speech broke me. God this is so unfair to everybody involved, the family first foremost and far above everybody else but ffs, come on. Drunk driving? In 2024? GTFOH.

Lovely to be able to view remotely from the Shuswap...if I'd been in YYC, I'd have been there for sure. Well done, fans, CPers, Flames. Unbelievable silence from a crowd that size. Backs absolutely broke me.
..and in Columbus, Monny looks absolutely devastated.
I think these days, being able to participate online changes turnout. Much respect for the people that could make it, and there were a lot.
Online, there were over 30,000 people viewing it live.
I'm glad I was able to watch from Regina w my boy. t broke my heart he bawled his eyes out, but I'm glad we got to mourn together and get some bit of closure and togetherness.
If we were in Calgary, I would have gone down too.

Man, like a few others have mentioned, that rendition by George at the end was hauntingly beautiful. I was close listening to Backs but everything about that song just brought the tears. Felt like they were being squeezed out from somewhere deep inside. I wish I could have been there but hearing that song live may well have killed me.
Full credit to the Flames and our city for coming together to support the Gaudreau family as well as each other during this time. This one is truly going to hurt for some time.
Go Johnny Go.

Yeah I’d been patting myself on the back for how big of a manly tough guy I’ve been so far until George Canyon decided to emotionally carpet bomb me last night with that incredible song.
