I was ok until George Canyon started to sing...
What a lovely tribute to two special men. Well done Calgary.

I'm sure it will be. In the meantime you can go back and rewatch it on the vigil on YouTube.

Classy vigil by the Flames.

Sad stuff.

Such a tragedy

I got chills hearing that sombre rendition of Johnny b Goode. Very well done by the flames and the city of Calgary. The Gaudreaus have been on all of our minds and will continue to be.

Glad I went and took my 9 year old. What a cathartic experience. RIP Johnny and Matthew.

What a beautiful vigil.

I was moved by the respect and scale. He was so loved.

I held it together, right until George Canyon's rendition. I couldn't help myself and started crying. My son (10yo) cried through most of it, and then bawled during the song. I cried harder seeing him so upset. I haven't cried at all about it yet, despite how sad I was.

Putting my 2 year old to bed now, and a flood of emotion just came over me as I was reading to him. I bawled my eyes out and am still crying. Just thinking of his children and not being able to see their father read stories to them. Thinking of his parents and having to say goodbye to their children.

I'm so damned proud to be a Flames fan, but my life is complete because of my children. They are my world, and all I want to do is hug them. My heart is literally breaking thinking of his children and parents.

Gudbranson with a couple good Johnny stories during the Columbus vigil:

Monahan was there but understandably didn't speak.

That Backlund speech really hit home. Great job from the Captain, that was not easy.

Thanks for everything Johnny.

The Blue Jackets memorial was tough to watch, towards the end they have a wide shot of the players and it stays on Monahan for a good minute before panning around, he looks utterly devastated.
