Yeah, based on camp so far, I would say it's between Klapka, Hunt and Jones.

As for Ruzicka, he has had a good showing so far, and with Pelletier out, the door is WIDE open for him. If he isn't on the opening night 12, I would say he's done in Calgary (injury notwithstanding)

Quietly 3 points and a +2 atm for Ruzi; things would have to go terribly from here for him to not make opening night IMO.

Yes, but also you have to work with these refs in the future. I expect Weegar may have a letter and even if not, he wants good relations with guys who call penalties.

Plus maybe what he said was over the line and he feels badly.

I don’t think he has anything to apologize for, heat of the moment in terms of what he might have said to the ref that got him ejected and he did what any vet D would do in that situation and protected his rookie Tendy. I thought the single out call was honestly pretty weak but it is preseason and the whistles do come out way more than reg.

A Hunt-Jones-Duehr line could give you some pace and even chip in a few goals. Not sure how strong defensively that line would be, but last year's 4L couldn't defend or score so getting half the equation right would be a nice change of pace.

All depends on what he said....you can go after those guys but there is a definite line that you cannot cross, and the fact he is apologizing tonight suggests he knows he did just that.

Good on him for getting ahead of the whole thing.

The line must be pretty far considering how Kassian used to talk to the refs after every single call. And he was one of the league's greatest heroes!

It is still wise to apologize to people who can openly and clearly impact the game, regardless of your impression on the rightness of the matter. Refs are human and can have negative impressions of players, resulting in more scrutiny and penalties. Conversely, if he apologizes, then the ref may actually like him more.

Reffing at the NHL is a hive of scum and self-importance. They deserve to be tossed to the streets and replaced with drones or similar. They're not part of the game and should stop making themselves part of it.

Starting tonight, every time the opposing team takes a penalty, it will be called the "Weegar effect"

Yeah but according to the Shaw representative that I spoke to last night, Shaw isn’t providing any of the pre season games on Centre Ice, even though it shows them on their guide.

More than likelies in Ruzicka and Coronato.
I think Schwindt needs to have a good game to get himself back into the discussions.

It is easy for us to pretend that it isn't or shouldn't be political. If your team's performance and fortunes bank on it, then you suck up your pride and apologize.

He had some good shots on the net in his other preseason game.

CalgaryFlames.com for the Jets' Jumbotron stream.

Or else TSN is streaming it, but not in the Calgary region so you'd have to find a stream of it online.
