Different topic, but still lipstick on an old pig….

During the Captaincy presser Backlund talked about some updates to the dressing room. Anyone know what they are?

"Grab and Gos" like the one you are saying is new @ Rogers have been around for many years at venues across North America, although not in Alberta.
Yeah I used one in Seattle at T-Mobile park. It was awesome. Quick and easy.

I honestly don't get why dressing rooms aren't updated all the time. I mean surely with the amount they are playing the players, they can afford $100k or so every few years to do a full reno of and update the technology in the dressing room.

As mentioned in my post above on Seattle and in other experiences in Houston recently, you still need to open your beer before leaving in the States. Maybe not everywhere but certainly everywhere I've been.

I mean they wouldn't want you bringing unopened beer out into the streets with you at those prices when you can just get the same thing for a quarter of the price at 7-11!

I always thought it was that they'd rather the referee or opposing player get smoked in the head with an open beer rather than a closed one.

Tin foil hat time, but I get the sense it's a bad precedent to normalize this kind of physical tracking. It starts here in stores and who knows how far we'll let it extend to?

Again, I could see this post being laughed at in the future. I might even laugh at myself. Maybe we'll come to love it. But for right now it felt really weird to be physically tracked like that. It's a new and foreign technology we haven't seen before, it's human nature to be weary of it.
I suggest you never go to London .

If they sell a scan model of you on the dark web, I guarantee
You wouldn't be holding a malt in the end product .......

Literally every professional sports venue in the US has multiple concessions like this with hot food options, beer, etc. everything. They can cut concession worker jobs in half and people don't have to wait long in concession lines.

Lot's of grab and gos in sports venues, but what makes what the Dome has done different is the Amazon technology that means you don't have a lineup for cashiers when exiting the area, although last night there was for sure some lineups on entry, seeing as how folks were dealing with new to them technology.

That's not unique. Many US venues don't have cashiers either exiting the area.

Kind of wish they employed 200 people or so for 5 hours per home game at $20/hour. That might add what, $1M to the expenses? The laundry budget probably exceeds that.

Yeah, that Just Walk Out tech is too much for me. I don't even like self checkouts.
