I really find it interesting that certain posters who only have negative things to say about the Flames become really quiet when training camps begin for the entire league. The poster I've had a beef with has not posted any Flames related content since the exact day the Young Stars tournament began. It's almost as if they have different NHL teams to devote their time and energy to now that the boring part of the year is finished. I hope I don't summon anyone, but this place feels better now and I'm excited to see the normal wacky disagreements on CP again. I know the poster I'm speaking about will be back, but hopefully their defenders are smart enough to realize they're defending an individual who specifically makes accounts to troll CP.

Sorry if this all seems petty, but I need something stupid to vent about right now while my Mom is going through cancer treatments after a remission.

F cancer and Go Flames Go!!!

i reply... new coach with totally new systems - you might as well 'figure it out' with your main guys in preseason rather than in games that are worth points.
he replied that that makes sense... but did laugh that it's basically the flames vs the canucks youngstars from penticton
that's pretty common in pre-season though - home teams play more stars, and the road team sends more kids

The other teams have to stop them or beat them in the D zone. So I don’t think so.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Cancer is brutal. Hope she gets through treatment fine.

Just as a tip. Fan boards are not a good place to visit if you don’t like contributions from the general population. The general population is quite a spectrum.

It will be nice to get back to debating hockey though. Not politics or some other unrelated topic.

There's a collection of regular posters who don't seem to grasp this. I've probably been in that group too.

It's a waste of time trying to fight/challenge every poster with a view that doesn't align with the majority here. It's a bell curve, but also a spectrum as you say, being a public board. And there will always be another poster with an "out there" opinion the next day. And it's doubtful that anybody is changing their mind at the end of day, especially with the manner in which people engage with those posters.

Keeping things light and humorous and not trying to strong arm people into changing their beliefs if we don't agree with them is a good policy for maintaining any semblance of sanity here.

But I suppose it's impossible to expect people to engage in a healthy way either lol. For some, chaos is their lifeblood. And misery loves company. And there's certainly no shortage of that around these parts.

I just hope the Flames have one of those up years so that the fights are more nitpicking as opposed to spats between drunken depressed fans that just bring the whole vibe down in GTs.

Actually literally correct. The only guys they sent who actually played full time in the NHL last season are Pius Suter and Dakota Joshua. This is going to be a massacre.

The only reason the game is being broadcast is being it's the Canucks side airing it. Gotta love Sportsnet Flames.

They only broadcast 1080p, but drop to 720p on some older devices. I don't know about the actual tv channels.

Let's get the W boys!
