Hopefully maybe it's just being a little out of shape after a year off and not that something came up in his physical health wise.

I worry about something like Myocarditis.
Myocarditis hey? What would make you think that specifically?

Funny thing is the talk was about more offence but it everyone seemed to believe fixing our defensive system was key.

Every player has said so far that it's a brand new defensive system thankfully.

A good offense starts with defense.

The changes huska talked about when he was hired had me very confident. We clearly had a terrible coverage system before in the d-zone that turned what should've been a tight Sutter system into a nightly fire drill in our end

Sutter was probably having none of any revisions or changes either, even though it was a butt clenching exercise watching them most nights

Ruzicka isn’t fast. Mangiapane almost never beats anyone outside.

Backlund, Coleman, and Lindholm can all skate, but they aren’t explosive fast.

Dube can put guys on his heels, occasionally.

Coronato and Sharangovich, I need to see more of.

They’ve never been a particularly fast team, even when they’re good - so I’m glad they’re taking steps to address it.

They were one of the slowest teams in the league last year, and I just don’t think they did so much that it’s no longer a weakness.

Honeslty an old article popped up randomly about how both Stalock and Archibald were diagnosed with it after their physicals / they were ramping up for training camp a couple years back and just triggered the thought.

So just kind of triggered the whole thought of something that could have popped up in a physical that isn't really an injury but more of a personal health thing.

Bennett was never scratched for the majority of a playoff series, so in some ways he was the opposite of this player. Huselius would be more of an example maybe it of course his acquisition cost was very low.

Look, a lot of good players were scratched at some point early in their career. Scratched for as much as he was in a playoff series where the Devils got thumped tells you what they thought of him. Particularly at his age. Hopefully the Flames prove they missed something.

He’s having mental health issues. This came from his own mouth. There’s an entire thread on it.

A player can also do something to end up in a coach's doghouse. Sharangovich had the best xG% of 68.4% out of all the Devils in the playoffs(only played 3 games). I think both his usage and confidence plummeted after the deadline acquisition of Meier. It's difficult to get your confidence back playing 10mins a night.

I don't think we bought low on Sharangovich, as he was the main piece that landed a 34G 70P winger in Toffoli, that has a bargain of a cap hit.

Sharangovich could be found money but it’s a shot in the dark. Penciling him in on top line shows how weak we are at RW. I think actually we might have the weakest RW in the league and LW isn’t great either

C on the other hand should be among the best in the league and in spite of last season I still believe this

Not surprised to see Ruzicka getting a look higher up the lineup. Sutter mentioned last training camp that Ruzicka's off-season training was very noticeable, so I would expect him to have made further gains this past off-season. Plus, he had a nice long productive look in the top 6 last year until he started disappearing. If he finds that consistency, he is as sure of a bet as any other young player for a top 6 spot.
