There are some that get their jollies by humiliating others and creating toxicity while in a position of power. Babcock is one of those.

Yet the NHL and hockey world keeps wanting to recycle these guys. Peters, Babcock, Quenneville.

If it wasn't for past Babcock allegations this likely would have been kept silent to be a team player, good to see the new allegations come out. Players shouldn't have to put up with this BS.

Possibly; I'd still tell him I have no cell phone and look him dead in the eyes while saying it. He can't physically go through your pockets, that would be assault. If Babcock wants to ask stupid questions, he should be prepared for stupid answers.

If it is true that is bizarre. I think I will wait for more info on this before jumping to conclusions though. The media and especially a guy like Biz would have no problem twisting a story to get attention. I am not saying it isn't true and if it is why in the hell would any player go along with it? On the other hand if Babcock asked players to show me some things you did over this summer from your phone photos so I get an idea of who you are as a person I could totally see a guy like Biz warping that into something it isn't. So ya, I will wait for the whole story to come out before lighting the torches.

Because the coach controls your ice time and opportunities. Some players have enough pull that they can probably refuse, but younger players especially are then put in a crappy situation to either go along with it or say no and ruin your relationship with the coach.

There's no reason to try to find a possible scenario where what's reported would be not as bad if given in more normal context. Fact is Babcock called players into his office one by one, told them to sit down, unlock their phone and pass it over.

No need to light the torches, for sure. But is there any good reason, ever, for a coach to ask for a player’s phone? Why not just ask, “Hey, what did you get up to this summer?” You know, like a human would say.

But right now it sounds like he went through his phone as opposed to asking to view summer vacation pictures.

You don't need to see the picture to get to know someone better.

He probably wasn't going through the phone to look for pics of Jenners shirmpy but it does seem like a breach of privacy for reasons we don't know yet.

I think Dissentowners point is we don't know that this is a fact yet, and we certainly don't know if it was more than one player.

Hell not all players will have even reported to the city for training camp yet.

Either way though it's going to put Columbus in a bad position...even if the story is only partially true it's clear there probably is going to be a strained relationship between Babcock and their captain Jenner either way since Jenner was named.
