Also, yes, it's Santagovich now after watching his Christmas video with the Devils.
Dude sounds like a wholesome Borat. It's awesome and endearing.
EDIT: OMG ITS BEEN MY AVATAR THIS WHOLE TIME!

Seems a little high for the season the player just had but I think we've set that expectation going forward. He's also not a player you want to sign long-term until you see if he has another level to reach.

We need to wait and see how this plays out before being critical.

You must be new here.
Seems like they did their homework and knew what they were getting. Hopefully it pays off.

was first thinking this seemed like too high, but there's the qualifying/arbitration situation...
Besides, it's only MuEd's money...
Now let's hope GMs are calling up Connie, like he's Saul Goodman with our other tradeables.

He would have gotten more than his QO in an arbitration.

It's a show me contract. Expected as much. Maybe a couple hundred grand too much, but you have to pay the Calgary tax.

Seems a bit rich for a healthy scratch with 5 goals in his last 52 games. But won't affect the big picture either way.

No. If anything I see him as a Rene Bourque replacement.

No. That's not how it works.
You can't just assume Sharangovich is going to leave after two seasons, and even if he did, you would then have to also assume he wouldn't be moved for additional assets.
The only thing that we can say with certainty was that Tyler Toffoli requested a trade and didn't want to be a Calgary Flame any longer.

Toffoli was headed for a crash this season. Without Sutter to hand feed him minutes and PP opportunities I doubt he was going to repeat last season. If the Flames go higher tempo, which they need to, Toffoli would stand out like a sore thumb. It would be like having Monahan out there again. It was wise to move him for a guy that has above average speed and plays the game at that speed. The pick and $1.4M in cap space is a bonus. We don't have to watch the Toffoli crash that is certain to happen as his legs slow even more.
