Calgary GMs trading with their former boss now GMing in Toronto always works out well.

Impressive for him to be friends with the 8 members of the board of directors and also CEO of MLSE and convince them to convince Shanahan to hire his son.

Glad he got a job. Not sure he’ll love that one !
Where is Salim and Will Nault. And that finely tuned athletic machine that is Pierre Lebrun now ! They were all in on dumping on the Flames for looking out for their own best interests. When it turns out they let the man go anyways. I still can’t understand how some of those guys make a living with such horrendous opinions on common sense issues. I don’t care how likeable Brad was Salim. He didn’t do a good enough job and was being paid very well until June 30th.
Best of luck to Brad. He’s going to need it.

If Treliving wants a player, he will overpay. I’m hoping he has an interest in Lindholm.
Where Treliving was exceptional was in extracting top dollar for his own players once they told him they wanted out. So let him come to you Craig.

Tavares would say no to any trade.
Plus HAH! to having to add a 1st round pick to move a guy who is a point per game player with 36 goals last year.

He'll just blame Shanahan instead.

FYI, I didn't say that, I was quoting FanIn80.

I think Treliving is a good fit for Toronto. I believe Salim or someone else in the media called this very move before the season. I am glad the Flames have moved on with Conroy and wish Treliving well.

His coaching hires were a disaster, but his team building, contract negotiations, and player trades were very good for the most part.

Co-owner and chairman...that better?
Guy owns 25% of MLSE...even "insiders" think it's a factor but sure it must be all the amazing track record.
And he is very good friends with Tre's old man.

This was heavily rumored throughout this season. I wish Tre had stayed on here, but it is what it is.

Well he better improve them because if they do the same or worse people won't be happy in TO

Some weird comments in here. Treliving had some ups and downs with calgary (probably more downs in my own opinion) and also a lot of bad luck. But he’s a very good man with outstanding character who deserves a fresh start.
He handled himself and the Flames organization with class and dignity and I wish him success and happiness in TO
