No. It’s because Sutter teams seem to have success in the playoffs after being an average regular season team. Is this always the case, no. But there is hope.
Mostly with the Kings, on the backs of a #1 centre, a #1 dman, and a #1 goalie.
But sure the Flames may do well in the playoffs, I’m of the fans that believe anything is possible.

Pavelski has two points so far as the Stars are tied with the Coyotes 2-2 in the second period.
Dallas is in the hunt for first place in the conference.

The Sabres rookie 4th stringer goalie shined in the 3rd period as the Rangers out shot Buffalo 20-9. It was an evenly played game with only 3 penalties called and the shots were 34-33 for Buffalo. The Sabres OT win puts them 5 points back of the 8th place Penguins and 1 RW less than the Penguins for the tiebreaker.
The Jets were 0/3 on the PP, but, that didn't matter as the Jets crushed the Red Wings. Demelo and Ehlers each had 2 points. The crazy thing with the Jets is that they are in 8th place, just 2 points up on the Flames yet could still pass the Kraken for 7th and the Avs for 6th place.
It was the Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen show for the Stars. Both assisted on the tying goal early in the 2nd period and Robertson scored what would be the GWG late in the 2nd period with Heiskanen getting the assist. Robertson with 4 points and Heiskanen with 3 assists. The Stars win puts just 3 points back of the 1st place Knights in the western conf. It's a 6 horse race for the top spot.
