Well it's on SN website now, so I'm taking that as a done deal. Great value for a player that might be a true number 1 here in Calgary. Kudos to Tre for pulling this off, even without the pick in the equation at this point.
Safe to say that this was a fantastic trade, possibly the Franchises best all time if the players continue to perform at or close to the levels they were at in Florida.

when Friedman used the Hampus Lindholm deal (8 x 6.5m) as a comparison, I didn't think we could actually get him for less than that. I mean, I don't think it's particularly close between Weegar and Lindholm in terms of quality right now. Wild stuff.

This contract does not start until next year. It has no impact at all on this year's cap and roster.
