We just don't know.
If they get to the playoffs, the Knights will be operating with an extra $10M in cap space. The Oilers won't.

The Knights have proven playoff pedigree from years past. The Oilers don't.

That said, the Knights' goaltending is very suspect right now, and could be what prevents them from making it in.

Oilers are facing Vegas or LA in round one...Kings just lost their #1 dman

It's certainly relevant to the Oilers

I urge you to watch the Knights and Canucks game from last night. Lehner was absolutely swimming on the ice. He is not a great goalie and the Flames have a massive edge in goal and that would be huge difference in a series. Flames stars have been better than Vegas’. Obviously their injuries play a part but Eichel has now had a good chunk of time to get into the swing of things and he’s not the difference maker that he can/should be.

Could the Knights flip a switch and gel properly once everyone is healthy and back up to speed? Sure. Is it a guarantee that their stacked team on paper will do that? Not even close. The Knights don’t frighten me at all.

And I almost forgot…..Sutter is better than Deboer and it’s not remotely close.

The Knights don't frighten me, but I'm a bit nervous about their building. I'd feel happier about playing them in the playoffs if the Flames had ever won a game at T-Mobile.
