Step 1 from the crisis response group....get him to back track his comments.

Cringe worthy but a start. He needs to invite the reporters back and give them, the fans of the Blackhawks, nhl, and most importantly the victims the decency of an answer to those important and fair questions. That was embarrassing to watch and I can’t help but think he’s learned nothing through all of this process and here’s hoping this bizarre response is finally a start for him to realize just how serious and damaging this has been on multiple levels and for multiple people.

He meant what he said, and he’s sorry people were offended to the point of not giving him as much money, nothing more.

What a vile organization. We're seeing their culture demonstrably, from their leader.

He's really a lot like his dad. Hot headed, & stubborn.

Yeah, he seemed to be a breath of fresh air when he took over, but that may have been based simply on how truly bad his dad was.

Did you notice how stunned his son was when Rocky talked?

I still think Rocky will be encouraged by the league to step down.

I think the organization as a whole had likely done the right things; Rocky simply went off script and spoke his personal mind. That was his mistake and he needs to be cleaned out.

Nailed it. There is no other conclusion. From the top down we finally saw how indignant they are that they had to answer for and pay $$ for misdeeds that they saw as the fault of a few.

They don't get how this is attributable to their whole organization and its culture.

And damn. This angry old rich white dude is giving the rest of us a bad name.

Omg. He had someone (the president!) forward his personal apology to Phil Thompson?! He couldn't dig up the email himself?

The TNT Panel did a great job bringing it up and discussing this during the intermission of the Blackhawks game. Worth the watch.

Here's an opportunity for the NHL to rectify the pathetic fine they gave the Hawks.

Spoiler alert: they won't.

I actually don't mind the fine. Could have been more maybe, but $2mm is sizeable. And they knew they had to settle with Beach which would really hurt. I would rather the money go to him.

I think the league should fine them financially and also ding them where it hurt most. Take away their 1st round pick for the next 3 years.

I like how they kept Gretzky and Tocchet at far apart as possible to make sure nobody makes anyone a patsy during the show.

Literally the only thing the NHL cares about is money. Literally, that’s it. It doesn’t care about people or the game. At all.

It’s grotesque.
