Fleury was the best goalie in the league last year. Not that amazing.

The guy was a fan favorite and helped bring them a lot of the immediate success they have been riding since their inception. You don't think that at least warrants a "thank you for your services" phone call?

Quite the slap in the face to Fleury. I hope this one bites Vegas hard.

Smith - 30
Stone - 29
Karlsson - 28

Martinez - 34
Pietrangelo - 31

Lehner - 30

Outside of Theodore (25) and Tuch (25) that team is getting old pretty quickly.

And all of the young pieces they acquired through the expansion draft have been traded (Glass, Suzuki, Brannstrom), and really only Krebs and Brisson look to be coming up through the pipeline.
Hopefully they end up like the Sharks in a couple years.

Old, expensive, bad and cup-less.

It's fine to take the cap hit if you have the Vezina winner in net, but to take a $7M hit for nothing would be a big mistake

You do have to be careful as a team because eventually players and agents catch on and press for trade protection, which may paint a team into a corner.

GD it, I cannot stand Vegas! Everything falls into their lap, teams bend over backwards and forwards to help them out. Desired FA's love signing there... If they get Eichel I am going to rage!!!!

Did Vegas just create room for Eichel?

May have jumped the gun throwing money at a middle of the pack starter

Vegas don’t have the assets for Eichel. They’ve traded all their high-end prospects away.

If Fleury retires rather than report, how does the cap work?

I do think that it deserves a phone call as a thank you. Also because he's a good guy. But the argument was that he found out on twitter. There are many things that go on leading up to the call before and after, so who's to say the organization didn't call afterwards or attempt to? This was more about him finding out - #### happens, it's not the end of the world or reflect badly on LV.

1st, Marchessault/Smith (both?), Krebs

Might have to find some more sweeteners or add more picks.

Doesn't look as appealing as some of the other rumored packages floating around for sure.

Sounds like they were blindsided.

Makes you appreciate how the Flames handled the Giordano departure, with class and respect (despite it being strictly business).

I think Vegas would have to include Tuch or Theodore and/or maybe the 2023 first.

But don't see why Buffalo would value the Knights first rounders; the likelihood of those being lottery picks is very low.

The Flames first rounders, well that's another story.
