I’m into this.
Keep Mackey down on the farm on the top pair with Yelesin and sign some cheap vets that will make less than usual this year to round out the group.

Other than that I like it.

Is there a farm this year?

Also, is it just me or does Lucic look leaner and quicker after the break?

Could be but regardless we want him fresh and ready to go able to keep up to the play. Against the Jets he has to be physical.

He Bennett, Rinaldo, Tkachuk have to be physically imposing as the Jets like that style and we can better them in every area.

Lucic can now prove he's worth being here . We have to win this play in round . All the Flames are saying the eight things about wanting it....show us.

Last year has to be a constant reminder.

Go Flames

Holy crud. That monahan to gaudreau goal was filthy.

Strange seeing monahan handle the puck a bit before teeing 13 up. Usually opposite.

The NHL will have to have some way for their reserve players to remain up to speed by playing meaningful games.

If no AHL perhaps a bunch of exhibition games or a tournament with several qualifying round games.

Good point though, makes one wonder.

He also did a really nice fake shot to pass on the lindholm goal. 23 looking real hot right now.

As long as there are no fans in the stands, anything below NHL hockey, at least in the US, is going to generate zero broadcast interest. So with no revenue sources, any games. will be costs borne by the club.

Since it seems the next NHL season isn't likely to start before January, hopefully the situation will improve by then.

I'm one of those debbie downers who think the season should be cancelled but if it goes ahead I'm oddly excited for it.

The sounds of hockey are incredible. Pucks banging and crashing off the boards, ice, sticks, body checks and player slamming into each other and skates as they cut through the ice. Love it.

Watching UFC fights recently they're so much more enjoyable without the fans in attendance. Reminds me of the PrideFC days and Japanese fans. You can really hear the shots.

What a terribly Oilers-esque fan attitude going on around here, with regards to Gaudreau.

Been saying for years Johnny needs to be playing down low RW on the PP, his vision there(Lindy goal) and his quick accurate shot make him double dangerous.

I'll scream if I see him anywhere else.

I 100% agree.
I could be wrong, but I feel like we saw him playing high from the point for most of the year, which I always thought was weird, because he doesn't have a great shot (at least not the kind of shot you want on the point).
I guess if you're going with 4 forward 1 defense, who do you put back there with Gio? Lindy maybe? You definitely want Chucky and Monahan down low/in front of the net.

Gaudreau had 7 goals in 7 games in the WJC playing down low on the right side of the PP. Seems like he's always been extremely dangerous there when given the opportunity.

Yep:

Goal 1: From the left corner across the crease.
Goal 2: From LW into the centre of the ice on the rush.
Goal 3: From the right side of the crease.
Goal 4: Starts on left side, sneaks around the net to the right side of the crease.
Goal 5: On the right side backdoor.
Goal 6: Down the LW with a disgusting toe drag and snipe.
Goal 7: Down the LW with another snipe.

Was that played on international ice? If so, he likely won't have as much room to maneuver on NHL ice.

Think it's still worth trying though -- especially on a 5-3 like on his goal yesterday.
