I hope not. I don't even care about the rest of this season as for all I care they can tank if he's gone long term. However at Gio's age it's harder to bounce back from major injuries and this team still needs him to be a top pairing defender next season.

From who? I think if you post something like that you need to provide a source or give some credit.

Well, a month after blowing out my back and knee I'm walking without crutches, too (or a cane really)...but not for more than about a hundred feet. I'm not really sure what that tells us....

It's not good but I have heard (yes heard) a hamstring snap before from 20 or so yards away. Sounds like a gunshot.

Hopefully it's something that can be repaired with not too long of a recovery time.

I really hope the team doesn’t fall apart from this, I think it is a great opportunity for guys to show what they are capable of. If this doesn’t rally the team to start to perform than what else will? A trade won’t, a fight won’t, a bat flip won’t.

I hope you recover quickly Gio and I hope the team saves the season and turns up the heat.

Hamstring injuries are extremely rare amongst NHL players.

I tore mine a couple years ago, doing the splits in net (soccer). It make a gnarly, violent pop.

Couldn’t tell you if others could hear it, though.

Dreger & Friedman both saying that Treliving will address the media after the morning skate.

You usually hold media scrums to tell people everything is cool and the player will be in the lineup tonight, right?

LOL....yeah i dont think there will be any good news coming other than it could have been worse but prepare for no Gio for a pretty significant stretch of time.

Silver lining I suppose. If he's done for the season they get that space on LTIR and have about $10M to shop with. Then Gio comes back for the playoffs

Ok, more of a matte grey, but still.

Fire Ward and make Gio interim Head Coach.

Hire Sarich and put him behind the bench as well.

Indeed. Clearly all is well. Nothing to see here...

The Hawks did that with Kane few years back, and there were rumours that he could have actually played before the season ended.

I do know he was ready to go the moment the playoffs started and didn’t look particularly rusty.

What are the odds that SN does a documentary about his recovery?
