For sure, that's your response, I think it was the joy that the poster was pointing out from other posters.

Marlbourough, I believe. Police issued a Canada wide warrant on first degree murder charges yesterday.

That right there is a good catch.
I think you are correct in your assessment.

You aren't. It's a sequence that highlights an often ignored aspect of first response to begin with and is something that has to be dealt with. The city didn't stop because of this. There were still domestics, fights, suicides and traffic accidents to be looked at. You have to be able to take something like this deal with it mentally, and keep going on to the next thing.

Some pretty intense looking scenes on the news this evening. I know there are some CPS members on this site, so I'm glad to hear your fellow member is doing better tonight than it sounded like earlier.

And this person tried to take someone from their family and friends today who was out there protecting innocent lives. #### that guy. His family can get over it

Great to hear the officer is expected to make a full recovery. Stuff like this is completely unnecessary. I have no sympathy for the shooter. Glad he’s gone.

They don't need to be exclusive things. He could have been a horrible person who is not deserving of respect but his family are still human beings who would be grieving his death. They actually have feelings despite being acquainted with the bad guy. Should they be trampled to satisfy your rage?

Sure. CPS should draft a letter of condolence and apology to the family for their human beings action in their time of sorrow.

Rage aside. When you have an armed person shooting and out of control, the necessary force is required. if I was on the ground or witnessed a member shot to the ground you can expect a reaction. Cause and effect.

glad to hear that the officer is well.

wonder what the "perps" story is? was this just a situation that went completely sideways for him? was he strung out on drugs? or did he decide yesterday morning that he was going to die that day, but he wanted the police to do it for him.

Looks like the guy who murdered the girl the other day is still wanted, so I'm guessing the corpse isn't him.

I don't really care that the shooter died. I'm not gleeful that he's gone, but neither am I bothered. His death get a big ol' shrug and a 'meh' from me.

As for the officer, I'm so glad to hear he's going to be okay. Licia Corbella wrote a great article in the Sun yesterday and I found it really moving. I highly suggest reading this if you have a couple minutes:

Yeah, the murder was unrelated.

This guy knocked over a convenience store then tried to carjack someone before the cops caught up to him.

Was it a lot of effort to move the goalposts? I was advocating for a sense of decency not something ridiculous.

I never once argued that CPS was inappropriate.

Once again, nothing to do with what I stated. I was talking about being a decent human being and realizing that the perpetrator's innocent family had nothing to do with the incident and should be shown some basic human compassion because they had lost a loved one as well.

If you shoot at a cop, expect to be shot back in full force. No sympathy from me for the perp.

On the other hand, C-71 and more gun control for law-abiding citizens would have surely stopped something like this from happening, right?

IMHO, the best form of gun control is mandatory minimum sentencing for serious offenders with a firearm. If you commit a crime and fired a gun, you need to go away for good for a long-long time, no parole, no early exit for good behavior. We need to make it clear to these thugs that if you use a firearm during the crime you're going away to jail.

i have zero sympathy for the guy who shot the cop. Do i feel bad for his family? Maybe i guess. They will lose their son/brother/whatever.

He shot a cop. This is a much better outcome than the courts. i have zero respect for pricks like this. I also have zero respect for bleeding heart liberals who do have respect for pricks like this. These are often the same people that think pedophiles and such can be cured through incarceration and rehabilitation....blah blah blah.
