Is this a good sign? I think it's a good sign:

Boring Sean Monahan ‏@boringmonahan 36 minutes ago
Sometimes I change it up and have fruit for breakfast but today I'm having toast

"The toaster: sometimes we throw a contract in there?"

If there's anything I've enjoyed about these contract waits, it's the couple posters who clearly hold a grudge:

"You all said I was CRAZY for thinking this. Now it might be true! IM NOT CRAZY AFTER ALL FELLAS! VINDICATION!"

Still crazy tho. Still not true.

I can't see Gaudreau signing the same term as Monahan, I think his will be one year less.

I still think the Flames, even if the contract is done, will not formally announce anything until both are done and in the city for the photo op.

People are saying 7x$6.85. They're also saying if it violates the Gio cap, Iran's going to execute another nuclear scientist.

Default Francis: Monahan close to signing?

Anything in between 6.5 and 6.8 over 8 years would be a fantastic deal on my opinion.

I like Monahan more than Schiefle, Mackinnon, and Forsberg and like it or not he has outperformed all of those guys. I think in the end Barkov will become the best of the bunch, but that's no slight against Monahan

The last three years are UFA years and is when he should be at his level best.
This makes the most sense to me. I originally thought around $6.3 without really considering what the actual dollars might look like. So long as Johnny is at or under $7.3, I think the Flames are doing ok.

Few things on this:

Finally getting the ball rolling on signing Johnny and Sean. I like it

Does this signing get Johnny deal done sooner and if so what affect will it have in regards of Johnny's contract?

Take it for what it's worth, but Francis also saying that Gaudreau's camp isn't looking for any kind of bridge deal either. They both want long term.

I'm conflicted with liking that statement but disliking anything that comes out of Francis' mouth

See, sometimes Francis knows what he's talking about. It's rare, but it can happen!

This does redeem him a bit. His credibility needed a story like this.
