The lottery simulator site has all the lotto combos now so you can draw one number at a time and see the lottery selections that way. I'm getting ready for crushing disappointment as I've only won 2nd once in about 40 tries.

There's three separate draft lotteries today correct?

My sim this morning was
Leafs
Flames
Coyotes
I'd take that in a heart beat and watch the Coyotes make pitch after pitch at Toronto for #1 while we can spend the next few months with 37463528 threads of Laine highlights, fights about how to actually say his name, and discussions about what type of bread he prefers under his traditional Finnish ham, cucumber and cheese and what that means to his chances of scoring X goals as a rookie.
I'm expecting the exact opposite though.

I'm the pessimistic type, but I also enjoy a good train wreck and watching internet drama from afar.
I honestly expect Edmonton to win it again.

Yep. Each team has a number of combinations of four numbers which give it the odds of winning. If a team wins the first lotto their combinations would result in a redraw if it comes up. There is also one combination not assigned to a team which would result in a redraw.

I am so filled with dread every time I remember today is the draft lotto. You remember that feeling you got in the pit of your stomach when, as a kid, you got in trouble at school and they called your parents? And how horrible you felt waiting for the boom to drop on you as you sat there waiting for them to come get you?
Well that's the feeling I mean.
In the immortal words of Han Solo, "I got a bad feeling about this."

Me too, and I have to say I'm kind of looking forward to it.
As I said in the E=NG thread the only thing better than watching Edmonton finish damned near DFL with four #1 picks in their lineup will be watching them do it with 5.

If Flames get a top 3 pick and Oilers don't, I want Burke to turn to Chiarelli and yell "SUCK IT!" He won't though, he'll scowl no matter what.

Everywhere I look online it says 6 pm, but if coverage starts at 5 pm, I would just start watching then just in case (or PVR it). I honestly don't know when they actually plan to air it.

I think coverage will start at 5, they'll have a bunch of interviews and stuff, Burke will sit around all grumpy, they'll start revealing picks at like 515, show 14-10, commercial, 10-5, more interviews, 5-3, commercial, then the top 3 at like 5:45, then more interviews.

This is what I was thinking; Flames and Oilers would at least be tempted and I honestly don't know that Laine projects worse in terms of talent. Frankly, for me the only reason Matthews remains consensus #1 is that centers are inherently more valuable and he's been in that top-ranking spot forever. If you don't think a center would be more valuable in your present situation, there's a case to be made. Even the Sabres might be tempted to get Laine as Eichel's future winger.

Saw this quote and assumed he was talking about the Flames rankings. Guess i misinterpreted it.
