He needs to be retired, not just honoured. So does McInnis.

Agreed, I would prefer a Canadian Flag on each shoulder.

Same can be said for every shoulder patch/logo in the league.

I wonder if a 47 Baertschi could be redone into 93 Bennett. Seems like 93 should cover almost all flaws left after removing 47?

How about changing the 1 to a 7 to make it a Poirier?

Got to work removing the Cammalleri name bar last night. Of course he's got such a long freakin' name. It's going to take a while but it'll be worth it.
Also, he got screwed on his legacy haha. No one will have a Cammalleri jersey in a few years anymore, with 13 and 93 getting much better jersey options.

Maybe stick the flags on the back of the helmets? I think football already does this.

I didn't trust myself enough to do it on my own, but if you did go that route, isn't there also an adhesive to deal with? When I got my jersey back from the tailors, the spot where the name bar used to be had this leftover, white residue everywhere, which you had to scrub pretty hard to remove (I just did the edges where "Russell" wouldn't cover, the rest would be covered up anyway).
Not trying to dissuade you, if you feel confident removing it yourself, by all means do. I just suspect there may be more to removing the bar than just stitching. When I saw all that residue upon picking it up, I was glad I hadn't tried to do it myself. I'm also a complete dud with that kinda stuff though.

Then each set of numbers on the jersey would be off center.

The Nieuwendyk trade turned out quite well for us all things considered. They should just let bygones be bygones. Hey, they even put Roy in the rafters in Mtl and that was a whole lot more acrimonious at the time than either of these guys trades.

They did let bygones be bygones and he is hanging in the rafters at the dome. The fact that the Flames org. Has decided they don't retire jerseys and honour in a different fashion now has nothing to do with any hard feelings towards Nieuwy.
I'm fine if people don't like the Forever a Flame thing, but it's not a secondary honour they've bestowed upon him, it's what they are doing now.

Yeah, I guess so. I just kind of see forever a Flame as a lesser honour. I would honour #12 for Hakan Loob, for instance, but I would eventually retire it for Iggy.

I wouldn't mind on the back of the jersey, right by the neck. They need to get other "flames related" shoulder patches

Reebok would probably have an issue with that.
