Perhaps I have terrible taste, but I've never minded the flags on the shoulders of the jerseys. I wouldn't be upset if they went away - don't tend to get wrapped up about such things - but I have never really understood the negativity toward the flags. It's probably bad taste on my part considering how universally they are loathed.

That's what I think too. They're not bad. I wouldn't be upset if they weren't on the next jersey, but they're unique

I don't mind the flags, but wish they treated both of them the same way - the canadian flag has a border around it, but the Alberta flag does not.

Just don't say anything positive about the piping. People here got bat $h!t crazy over the piping and how it's ruining their lives. You'd think the piping supporting Hitler the way people talk about it.

Mostly this. Don't mind the Canada one, but the AB one is just straight bad.
Also if there's anyone who should be sporting 69 on his jersey, it's Ferland.

I disagree. How are they unique? They are our flags. Nothing creative or unique about it IMO.

I will take your advice and refrain from piping up in discussion of such matters.

I'm selfishly hoping that Ferland switches to #20 because I want to get my Glencross jersey re-crested.

I like the jerseys of former players. I am not getting any of mine redone, and I've got a collection that has Baertschi #47 (retro), Glencross, Bouwmeester (retro), Kiprusoff (HC), and Iginla. You know the player won't be there forever, but I still enjoy wearing them to a game. I have Monahan (3rd), Gaudreau, Giordano, and Backlund (retro) as my current players, and will be getting a Bennett now that his number has been finalized, and probably a Hamilton.
I have a bunch of San Francisco Giants jerseys. If you want updated names the home ones are good because they only have numbers. Your #35 Rich Aurilia jersey just became your #35 Brandon Crawford jersey. Only their road jerseys have last names.

Our current set is right up there with the pedestal and the horsehead as far as being the worst jersey in team history goes. Give me the retro with subtle black outlining and call it a frickin day. Or no black, even better, but you know they'll never do that.

I've only owned one numbered Flames jersey (#9) up until this year. I now own two #13 jerseys and wear them with pride on game days, which looks strange in the desert. I recommend #13. I hear the kid wearing it has a pretty bright future!
