@ Canadiens - Win
@ Capitals - ?

So 3-1-2 so far and already got the 8 points needed in this 7 game stretch. With a win against the Capitals they would be in a really good spot after 14 games.

Looking forward to the next 7 game stretch:

@ Lightning
@ Panthers
@ Hurricanes
vs Coyotes
vs Senators
vs Ducks
vs Blackhawks

Some winnable games in that group on the East Coast, and then some games against the class of our conference in the Ducks and Blackhawks that will be good measuring sticks.
Thanks dude and sorry.

Series 2 was on the second page. I've merged it to the first post and will keep updating the first post as the series progress.

Hi everyone! I'm a longtime lurker and figured it was time to get involved.

I gotta say.. I am SO pumped for the flames future. The hype on the internet in the last week is insane and reading it all makes me giddy. HFBoards/Calgarypuck is a great place for Flames fans lately -- we're getting our tires pumped everywhere.

The fact we are in the conversation of having top 5 D pairing, 2 top 5 D overall, potential Calder finalist, and still a superstar in the bank with Bennett all the while "rebuilding". Not to mention our support cast is simply tearing it up too. It's going to be a great decade, I am super proud to be a flames fan right now.

I'm also super impressed with the culture that management has instilled in the organization, what class.

Super exciting times.

Great that you're putting the updates in the first post, Captain.

While you're at it, however, a small thing you may want to fix: You have the Lightning game as a loss, and the team with 7 points so far in the second series. The loss was in OT, giving the team 8 points.

Thanks for the work you're putting in. I'm looking forward to tracking the season this way.

Getting 8 points in each 7 game series is likely going to leave this team just on the outside looking in if they go the distance in each series. To actually make the playoffs if that's the goal of this activity, they are likely going to need to end a few series earlier than in game 7 (so they can start the next series earlier and get more points) and likely pick up some loser points in their losses (like they've done so far in this set).

So, I figure to really consider this second series a win, they need to actually get that 4th win and feel good about the fact they picked up a few points in the loses too because they are going to need them at the end of the year.

Good way to put it CSW.

Even though we got the two loser points though, I still consider the series 3-3. Let's hope we win the next one to get the 2nd series win.

thanks for the correction, I've fixed that.

One stat that I wish I could track easier is pp and pk. Guess I'm going to be back this weekend and put that in.

What I'm hoping is that we can start looking at trends from series to series.

Also, I only consider a series win to be 4 wins. As much as the points are nice, you can't win a series with a tie.

I think 4-3 for a 3rd series win

They'll win one that they "should" have lost (Tampa, Anaheim, Chicago), and they'll lose one that they "should" have won (Carolina, Florida, Ottawa and Arizona)

@ Lightning - W
@ Panthers - W
@ Hurricanes - W
Coyotes - L
Senators - L
Ducks - W
Black Hawks - (Series 4)

If the Flames win 4 games before the 7 game mark, we just carry the remaining game(s) over to the next series, right?

I wouldn't think it would carry over, but this is not my thing.

@ Lightning 5-2 loss
@ Panthers 6-4 win
@ Hurricanes 4-1 loss
vs Coyotes
vs Senators
vs Ducks
vs Blackhawks

Easily the worst start to a Seven game series so far for the Flames this season, as they haven't looked good in their last three and injuries to forwards may finally be catching up to this team.

Need a big win against the Coyotes to get the series back to 2-2.

updated.

5 on 5 play is killing this team right now, the special teams has been surprisingly good.

Maybe a bit of a slide in goaltending, but the Flames are really struggling in terms of their in zone play.

Senators
Ducks
Black Hawks

That is a pretty tall order to come away with 2 wins.

Yeah, it is, but if you can't challenge yourself your never going to win right?

The Sens are a winnable game, if we can get up 3-2 anything can happen.
