What I don't like about this strategy is that if you lose four in a row or four in five or four in six, or alternatively if you win four before the 7th game in the series, then your motivation to win the remainder of the games in the seven-game series is diminished. Consequently, I think you should take the season as best-of sevens. If you lose or win four, then you're on to the next series.

I think that's what CC will be doing. We barely won the series 4-3 with our 4th win in the 7th game. If we happen to win the next 3 games, I would imagine he puts the 7th game (14th game) as the primary game for the 3rd series.
I hope that made some sense, because reading it myself, it looks confusing.
Would be best to keep the first post in the thread updated. So you can see them all together and people don't have to scroll through various pages to find the most up to date one.
The next 7 games will give us a good idea who this team is. If we finish somewhere in the 11-7-2 range I may have to start thinking about how I'm going to get home after playoff games/heroin beers.
I see the bump but don't see an update for the second 7 game series in the OP.
vs Lightning- OTL
vs Hurricanes - Win
vs Capitals - Loss
vs Canadiens - SOL
vs Predators - Win
@ Canadiens - Win
@ Capitals - ?
So 3-1-2 so far and already got the 8 points needed in this 7 game stretch. With a win against the Capitals they would be in a really good spot after 14 games.
Looking forward to the next 7 game stretch:
@ Lightning
@ Panthers
@ Hurricanes
vs Coyotes
vs Senators
vs Ducks
vs Blackhawks
Some winnable games in that group on the East Coast, and then some games against the class of our conference in the Ducks and Blackhawks that will be good measuring sticks.

I think we beat the capitals and then go on to win the next 5. I don't think it's unreasonable to think we go on a bit of an extended winning streak considering the way we've been playing lately and with the quality of the opposition coming up.

Predictions in bold. I agree that there are a couple of games in there that will be tough over the next 8 games (end of this series and the next) but we can come out of this with a winning record. I think we can win the next 7 game series as well.
With the injuries the others have to step up and so far I am not disappointed. If Hiller can keep it up we will have a great chance of being in the playoff mix still after the next 8 games.
