Nevernerverever will I consider the pedestal so bad it's good. It's like a taste aversion to a undercooked kidney, liver and broccoli casserole. Once you thrown up a little in your mouth, it's over.

Well, I'm partial to green in uniforms to begin with (it irritates the hell out of me that the Wild went red with their home silks). However, the previous ones seem kind of incomplete to me for some reason. The black accent just seems to cap it off nicely, especially on the then away (green) sets.
As for black on the Flames unis, I think if done as an accent it would be just fine. I love the retro sweaters and think they look really sharp on the ice, but I think I would rather see something more modern and innovative. I'm not a fan of their regular home/aways, and I generally dislike the current thirds. The concept posted earlier in this thread is quite striking and gives a modern spin on several previous eras. Something along those lines with that kind of idea would be perfect IMO.

Now that I think about it I'm not sure I want the retros as the new home. I'd rather see a new design completely, but a more classic simple one. Like the Bastian ones playmaker posted, maybe add the new shoulder patch to them as well

The only thing I'd add to them is a subtle outline around yokes (red on white jerseys and yellow on red jerseys) with the new shoulder patch inside. Hopefuly they will ged rid of black flaming C soon and bring the legendary white flaming C back.
White on red provides much better contrast and makes jerseys look sharper.

Get rid of all the black, and there's something decent there....
....it's called the Retros.

I like the current ones we have best and using the Retro's for special games maybe 5-8 times a year, but I am not nearly as passionate about it as some here seem to be and wouldn't see it as a big deal if they switched back to the retro's.
I had no idea what the podium jersey's were so thanks to whoever posted that, those were awful but still ahead of the current 3rd jerseys.

I've always thought that the horse head jersey with a flaming C would look pretty good. If you like black; I know it was trendy for a while there.
The only jersey I own at present is our current away strip, and I think it is a good jersey; clean, classic lines, close to the original homes. I prefer it to the current homes by a big margin.
Grew up on the originals, though, and that is my vote.

I don't mind the current jerseys but the flags have to go, they show lack of imagination. I rather have no shoulder patches.

I don't know why your tone has to be so caustic. You came in guns blazing from the very start of this thread, in what can only be described as textbook troll behavior, and now you're accusing everyone else. If you address people in a certain way you have to expect a certain type of response.
Anyway, I'm loving the look of the white retro away jerseys. I would be more than satisfied if that was a design they brought in next year.

I didn't come in guns blazing, I was simply pointing out this topic has beaten more than a dead horse. Most people here seem to want the retros full time, I don't so that makes me a troll? Last time I checked having a differing opinion than the herd is not a call to ask someone to be banned. Every time the retro jerseys get worn this comes up. When the new ugly 3rds came out this came up. It comes up all the time but it is not going to change. It is kind of like how every month a new Iginla thread gets made or an old one gets bumped, I think too many fans on here are stuck in the past. It is a new era for this team, maybe we should re-design the currents as we move forward. I am not a fan of the retro jersey's, that yellow is nasty and the lack of black sucks. Black is awesome!

No one cares that you have a differing opinion, lots of people do and don't get ragged on. Your problem is you speak in absolutes and in this case are complaining about the wrong thing.
Share your opinion that you believe we shouldn't live in the past, and that you like black in our colour scheme and everything would be fine. BUt that's not what you did.
You came in guns ablazing, calling everyone whiners and saying the thread shouldn't exist and we talk about it too much. Why do you care if it gets talked about too much? You can just not read the thread as it's clearly labelled "Retro Jerseys". And those of us that do want to discuss, regardless of how many times it's been discussed, can do so.
If anything, the constant threads and constant poll results showing the majority of CP'ers want to go back to the Retro jerseys (this one shows 77%) is very interesting and something the team should look into.
Anyways, not really sure what my point was, other than to point out that you get hammered on here because of the hostility you typically express in your posts, that cause the reactions you get.
It's not simply you just expressing your opinion and then getting trolled in return, while coincidentally most posters don't have that problem.

It's also odd that while you came in complaining that this thread exists and that we talk about this too much, you actually have the most posts in this thread AND voted in the poll.
To me that's not indicative of you being tired of people discussing the jerseys, it shows that you in fact are tired of being in the minority on the jersey debate and want everyone to agree with you.
If your issue was just the amount of discussion, you'd likely just stay out of the threads.

dissentowner, ever stop and wonder why it's always you getting piled one?
The way you express your opinions could use a lot of work.

I voted for the podium jersey. I love the retros and I love the 04 home jersey. The thing is though, I think a lot of people love those jerseys because of the memories they represent. I remember becoming a Flames fan as a kid, after moving to Calgary, and they unveiled those podium/pedestal jerseys. I thought they were so cool. It helped solidify me as a Flames fan, and that's great because success on the ice after they started wearing those disappeared pretty quickly. I was also young enough to like the Horsehead jerseys.
As much as I love the old looks, it'd be nice to get a new design that is really nice for the next period of success that is coming.
