Heart and soul guy? Lawls. Bite and dive guy a disgrace to the sport. I might feel a shred of sympathy if Sean Avery suffered a serious injury. Burrows nope not a chance.

Somehow I just can't muster up much sympathy for the diving biting hair pulling moron, if he could somehow get tape worm I would start going back to church.

In all seriousness, I have met him a few times, and listen to him talk about his life.

He's actually a pretty good guy. I hate to say it, but Bieksa is too.

Mods, how long till I'm banned?

I think you actually committed the equivalent of a dive in a forum thread. I don't care what you think about Burrows or Bieksa, but I'd swing the ban hammer just for this sad little bit of martyr wannabe.

Two or three overhyped incidents shouldn't incite this much hatred.
FTFY, because only women fight like this:

Kneeing in the dink:

Pulling hair:

Biting (this was his second incident):

Burrows is a punk, a disgrace to the game and Canucks fans are bad people for cheering for him.

He grabbed a clump of hair in a tussle. Just one of those things, can't defend it but it happens. The other two are trivial and overblown. Reminds me of how Oilers fans overreact over some of the stuff Iginla has done.

Take a hockey player. Works his way up to the big leagues from the ECHL. Scores more NHL goals than any other player in ECHL history. Breaks his way in as a gritty PK specialist, but eventually ends up on the first line of a Stanley Cup contender. Can play in every situation, plays hurt, represents his country, heck even represents playing ball hockey in the summer, plays a two-way game, basically everything you could want from a player.

I wouldn't have thought it possible for me to dislike a player like that, but Burrows proved me wrong.

(edit:I agree with Magnum PEI that the hair-pulling thing was completely blown out of proportion. But not the kneeing thing, and not the biting thing, or knocking the teeth out of a teenage goalie in a summer rec league, or the constant diving, etc. )

Don't appreciate the antics being a poster boy for a team who will play dirty and take advantage of the officials and integrity of the game

But would not wish upon him a puck in the face breaking a jaw

He reached up, grabbed a clump and pulled.

How is us hating Burrows for BITING the same as Oilers fans hating Iginla? (The worse he did to an Oiler was an accidental slew foot)

I am generally not one to pile onto this type of a thread, but the irony of Burrows having a broken jaw is too delicious to pass up!

For those that are trying to defend Burrows in this thread, I really doubt anyone is ever hoping that he gets injured badly at all. Burrows will be fine, and we all know it. You can't bridge the biting history to this injury and find some sort of humor? It would be another thing if Burrows was seriously hurt, and his career (or his health even outside of the game) was compromised.

If the injury was a broken leg, or finger.. groin pull, sprain... practically anything else, nobody would be piling on. How could you not expect people to in this instance?

Like who?

Monahan? Wideman? Giordano? Glencross? Galiardi?

That's not how Karma works.

Who are these hockey gods you speak of? Can you pray for a top 5 pick for the first time?
