But the NHL usually does schedule around the CFL - the Stamps and Flames rarely play in Calgary on the same day, never mind at the same time.

All pro sports try to do this.

I'll be watching more of the stamps game tonite than the Flames game. Go CFL!

and FU Brodeur for giving the Oilers a win this season. They prob would have went 0-82 this year.

Unfortunate that both games are on at the same time. I'll watch the one that proves to be more entertaining.

I tought this year was all about letting the young guys play and develop and finding a new #1 goalie.

I think we all agree that Joey MacDonald is not a #1 goalie in this league. Now Ramo is caught up in a catch-22 - Heartley won't play Ramo because the team has more confidence in MacDonald, but the team won't get confidence in Ramo unless he gets to play.

Yes, it is only game 5, but why wait? Are they really thinking "playoffs 2014"? And what happens if they get on a bad streak that starts with MacDonald losing and then Ramo losing and they lose 3-5 games in a row (not inconceivable) - where is the confidence then?
I had the same viewpoint as you up to a couple days ago, but I've changed my tune and here's why. Nobody expected this team to be very competitive but they've had a strong start to the season. Who knows if they can keep it up, but you should never enter a season with the mindset that we are going to be a bottom feeder and playoffs are impossible. Leave that crap for the special kids. Since the team is playing well, you've got to go with the guy who's hot right now. Ramo may have a higher salary and was the de facto starter in the off-season but good for Hartley for not letting that kind of stuff sway his decision. You got to play the guy who's getting you wins, and that's Mac. Finally, unless you expect Mac to go 78-0, the rest of the season, Ramo will get his chance to take job and run with it. We've had some early success, so why mess with a winning formula? As an aside, I think most will agree neither Mac or Ramo are this teams goalie of the future, so we might as well play the guy who has the best chance of getting W's now, until one of Gillies, Berra, Brossoit or Ortio are ready. I put those goalies in the order of who I think has the best chance of being our long term solution.

Monahans line could be getting extra attention from the Devils. Interesting to see how it plays out. More learning experiences.

I'm shocked there's a noted overlap between people who watch hockey live and are still interested in seeing April Wine in concert.

It's a good day when the you see the canucks and Oilers lose the night before and a Halifax Drunk GDT. Glorious times.

Just looking for another hard working game from the Flames. Really interested to see what Bouma can do with a bit of a promotion.

Damn Devils are winless, past Flames teams have often been very charitable in this regard.

Yeah, and in this case they'd both be driving down from Edmonton.

When I think of this for some reason this song keeps popping into my head:

Quote:
Don't you think it's probably time you sit and write your fans an apology letter
Maybe you've been waiting too long, too long
For somebody to throw your kinda party
And you're old, you're too old

If you're waiting for an invitation
You're gonna wait a long time
Wait a long time, wait a long time

If you're looking for an invitation
It's never gonna come, it's never gonna come
You're never gonna get one
-Waiting for an Invitation by Benji Hughes

As for the game tonight lets keep playing like we enjoy the game, and see what happens. Go Flames Go!
