This night can be salvaged with a Colorado win.

Do you believe in miracles?

As it stands now (and looks like it will end) much easier path for Kings to finish 6th than to finish 4th so maybe they will want to lose?

Remember, where they finish is not the final ranking.

The lottery will do one of two things, either it will push them into top spot because their ball is drawn, or it will drop them another slot.

That's the crazy thing, you either win the draft, or you drop another position. It's one or the other.

Knowing that, you've got to finish top 2, or hope to win the lottery. Anything else will be a disappointment.

Minnesota could not be tanking at a better time

giving up that much for Pominville than missing the playoffs would be glorious

There is also the chance they stay at the same spot if one of the teams ahead of them win the lottery. So not really one or the other.

Well, teams above you (1 & 2) could win and we'd stay at 3.

But yes, it hurts to say it, but we need to finish 29th or 30th to guarantee the distinct top 3.

Somebody needs to explain to me why Yzerman gets so much credit for his work as GM, what has he done outside of being Steve Yzerman?

Slightly OT but how do the Panthers not offer Vancouver a 4th round pick for Luongo this offseason?

I know he doesn't have a ton to work with in front of him but this Markstrom is the goalie of the future crap is looking like it ain't going to work out.

I can understand not wanting to bring him in this year at the deadline but they probably need/want to win sooner than later after they get their top pick this year and Vancouver will be desperate to get rid of Luongo for anything (I would think.)

Since we're asking questions, I want to know how Brendan Gallagher has 12 goals.

What are we doing wrong?

Montreal seems to be a team that is having a season where everything goes right for them and it will be interesting to see if Gallagher is the real deal or just taking advantage of that.

I think the Canadians will take a fall back to the norm next year, which may not see them out of the play-offs but more likely in bottom half of play-off teams rather than top team in division.

That said Gallagher had one of the top coaches in junior and was always said to have a very solid all round game.

Would be nice to see someone turn out like this for Flames sooner than later.

I could think of about 40,570,000 reasons not to.

Kid was a scorer in junior but was passed over and over looked due to his size.

Three straight 40 goal seasons in the WHL is nothing to scoff at.

And yet Baertschi is struggling as he is?

I don't know. He's at most an inch taller than Gaudreau, yet he's having such success.

I think Gallagher's just a guy who's really progressed. He was really impressive in camp last season too and almost made the team.

I think Montreal benefits from having a good group of young guys who seem to just really love playing.
