Thankfully have New Mexico out in the Sweet 16. Was gonna put em in the Final Four but went with Ohio State, so now I can freely root for Harvard!

Brutal, and they're a good offensive team.
I don't even think Syracuse has played all that well either. They're shooting well, but they've been sloppy especially in the first half.
Go Shockers!

A10 is 3-0 so far in this tournament. Let's keep score that way!
|
We'll see how today plays out, but so far A10 is 4-0 with a average margin of victory of 22 points. Those kind of results are not very fitting of a mid major label, and are proving themselves more than worthy of their bids.

It's pretty amazing that had Georgetown won the Big East Tournament they would have got a 1 seed, and now they're getting humiliated by a 15. Gotta love the Tournament.

Wow, that's the end of my bracket! Didn't get to see this one, but sounds like a very impressive performance from FGCU.

Georgetown definitely had a chance to make a run, Florida Gulf Coast went cold at the end of he game, but the Hoyas seemed to just not care tonight. Better team won for sure.

Georgetown doesn't seem to care most of the time.
They just ran a ticker...
"Georgetown is the first team ever to get knocked out by a seed 5+ lower than them 4 years in a row"

And now Western Kentucky is beating Kansas, mind you by only 1 point, how absolutely crazy would it be if the number 1 and 2 seed from the same region both get knocked out first round!

Voted for Kodos

A western Kentucky win would have meant that every numerical seed would have been represented in the round of 32.

While Gonzaga won by less, Kansas's performance was way more embarassing and they should have lost. Western Kentucky I think if I read right shot 6 for 38 (!!!!!!) in the second half, and they were still within 5 in the final two minutes. If Southern would have played Kansas they would have won by 10 or more.

The crybaby week of the should go the New Mexico Lobos sportswriter who quit his job after 33 years of covering the team after their loss to Harvard.
Quote:
I really thought that the University of New Mexico finally had a men's basketball team that earned the loyalty of their fans.
I was wrong.
I've been around Lobo basketball for 33 seasons. For 32 of those seasons, I knew that UNM had a team that could fold and lose to anyone at any time. I never got my expectations too high because a collapse was possible anytime they walked out on that floor.
I thought this team was different. I was convinced that this Lobo team was for real. It had experience, a good front line and a good backcourt and good chemistry and was smart.
I was wrong.
The main difference between these Lobos and the others who fell flat was that the 2012-13 team played defense. New Mexico forced opponents to take bad shots and actually guarded. This team had real potential.
I was wrong.
This was a team that had the MWC Player of the Year in Kendall Williams and the MWC Tournament MVP in Tony Snell and two big men who had been outstanding at times and a point guard who had developed quickly. I never expected the Player of the Year to be absolutely invisible when he was needed most or that the tournament MVP couldn't hit a 3-pointer on a bet.
I was wrong.

Yup....if not for offensive rebounds and a stupid flagrant by that Shocker player...this thing could have gotten very ugly in a hurry.
