I brought me iPhone 4 back to the apple store and got a new one under warranty a couple of weeks ago, because my home button was somewhat unresponsive.

siri, the voice recognition assistant, is pretty damn impressive. you can ask it to schedule appointments, read/reply to text messages, remind you to call your wife when you leave work, give you directions to somewhere.. all by speaking to it.
hopefully this is available on iOS5 and not exclusive to Iphone4S

So is all this voice recognition stuff iPhone 4S only, or is it part of iOS5?

4S is exactly the same form factor as the 4.

Sooo basically I should buy a 4S with my renewal discount and sell it for profit and just keep the 4.

If this is it (which I believe it is) for the first time I will be skipping a model of Iphone.
My iPad 2 alraedy has the A5, and the 4S, even with siri, is not a big enough reason to invest in a new phone

My thoughts exactly.
I still love my iPhone 4, so not a big deal. iOS 5 will be awesome though.

Yup me too, my only desire for a 4S would be for the improved camera. The wife can get a 4S

I'm happy. Had a 3GS for a long time now and at least I have something to upgrade to. My wife got the 4 a while ago and I can't stand mine compared to hers.

Another year without LTE seems like it will really hurt iPhone sales on Verizon. Even now its annoying that my wife's Droid X takes so much longer to download stuff than my Thunderbolt, and I can only imagine how that will increase over the next 6 months as LTE rolls out to almost every city in the U.S.

4S is fine for people who are already looking to upgrade from a 3G or Blackberry, but Apple is really missing out on those hardcore types that would have paid $600 for a 5.
I can't imagine we will see too many people camping out for the 4S come release time.

Honestly though, its expected. It's only been a year since the iPhone 4, which was such a major upgrade. Didn't expect much on this new phone....very similar to 3G/3GS....
The rumor sites are the ones who got everyones hopes up lol. Logically, it didn't make sense to completely revamp the design.
But yeah- anyone upgrading from a Berry or a 3G/3Gs should undoubtedly get the 4S, but the iPhone 4 is still a good phone. I don't see many with a 4 upgrading to a 4S, solely for the A5 and Siri.

ALL ABOARD!

People upgraded from the 3G to the 3GS so I don't see this release being any different. People will go from 4 to 4GS in droves as they always do.

Disappointed that we didn't see a redesigned iPhone 5 but the 4S is better than my garbage flip phone I've had forever!

I'm fairly disappointed, but that's because of the all the media hype/supposed leaks, etc.
I really thought the new form factor iPhone 5 would be hitting today. I just finished my 3-year contract with my iPhone 3G and I've been waiting to upgrade, but I didn't like the iPhone4.
GS2 or Nexus Prime for me.
