Co-op Gold fits that bill for me. Laughed at a co-worker over it until I actually tried it.

Co-op Classic Ale is actually pretty decent too. Like Gold, it's brewed by Big Rock, and it's usually on sale. I keep a bunch on-hand as an emergency supply for guests.

Like others have said, I think it's Co-Op Gold. I did a project on Big Rock in school.

No, they didn't give us free beer when we interviewed them

ILL, I guess at the end of the day I have to choose between to internet "sources".

To be clear I have no skin in the game on where it is or isn't. I was wondering if it is a statement based on fact or urban lore.

Do you mind me asking how you are so sure?

Much like music, inoffensive bland products are going to be enjoyed by the most people. This is no surprise, all of those beers are pretty generic.

Keep in mind that availability is a big part of it. I can't roll into any restaurant and order a Chainbreaker, but I can get Coors Light pretty much everywhere.

Interesting. I thought it was brewed by Great Western (last I would have checked was about 10 years ago). Wonder if it changed or if I'm thinking of a different beer?

Co-Op gold is brewed by Bigrock (under a differnt brewery name), and it is quite good, but how anyone could think Co-Op Gold and grasshopper are even remotely similar is mind boggling. They aren't even close to the same colour.

My cousin actually worked at Big Rock.
They do brew Co-Op gold, but it is not grasshopper.

Also, someone who works in the beer industry should probably know that if one beer is Wheat Ale, and the other is a Lager, they are not the same beer.

I'm quite certain Co-Op Classic Ale is the same as Traditional Ale.

Pretty much any mixed drink with vodka will have the same calories as a typical beer.
