If Alberta was Calling, they must have called the wrong number.

Are you sure about this?? Yoho told us that Alberta is the most critically thinking province when it comes to voting.

I wish you the best of luck! I've been looking for a year and half now, and it's effing exhausting / depressing.

Health care is one of the top reasons why I'm voting NDP (as well as their economic diversification plan); I would like high-quality and experienced doctors to actually be interested in coming to Alberta again... showing them respect and dignity within their profession again would be a great start.

They're coming to High River with cash in their hands and buying up homes here. Just had 3 from Ontario move in on my street and they all hate the UCP and Danielle Smith. They say Smith reminds them of Trudeau.

Anecdotal but in my volunteering activities, the most supportive and effusive supporters that I've come across are either health care workers and/or their spouses. Go figure.

No one is saying people aren't moving to Alberta. But for a province that is supposedly wildly popular with everybody else in the country, it's mind-blowing. They can't fill 42 family physician slots. That is a damning indictment on the current government and an absolute travesty and embarrassment.

As I was leaving I asked the clerk at the front if I should book a time with a clinic, and she said "why are you putting your jacket on? You need to get your bloodwork done". I looked a bit shocked, and responded that I had to book that back in Alberta with Dynalife. She said it gets done in the clinic here on the spot. 5 minutes later it was all complete.

I was honestly shocked - I didn't realize it could happen that quickly. I am used to booking with Dynalife weeks out for this, and having to wait in the clinic for that service.

Ontario has it's warts, but goddamn if that didn't make me happy to have public healthcare available so easily. I know it's not like that everywhere, but simple bloodwork shouldn't require a huge inconvenience - especially if privatization is supposed to cut down on the lead time for services like that.

The physician even gave me his card and said if anyone is looking for a family doc, he'd be happy to take on more patients. My jaw just about hit the floor.
This isn't unique to Dynalife, it's been that way (for me anyway) for years and was something I could never understand. Go to the Dr., get your requisition, then have to find somewhere to get the labwork done (days or weeks later unless you got lucky). It's never made sense to me. For a regular checkup that stuff should be requisitioned beforehand so you have the results when you walk into the Dr. office instead of having to return for a second visit.

Dynalife may be messed up but the system's shortfalls are not entirely on them.

I trust your CBC biased article just as much. “Oh no the doctors will leave”

They get paid higher than most other Provinces, I wouldn’t let it keep you up at night. Just ask AFire inside.

Are we on the 25th or 26th time he said he will move away?

I know I’m probably in the minority here but I enjoy your posts. That isn’t to say I agree with most of what you post and to be frank it’s probably the opposite, but for some reason I just can’t help but enjoy them. I guess I just take a glass half full approach to reading posts and somehow found a positive where most found a negative.

Like I said, I don’t agree with his views.

I guess I just view Yoho’s posts as a PSA for people who can’t wrap their heads around why a lot of people can’t support the parties that Yoho supports.

To be fair while part of that is people not wanting to practice in Alberta, I would guess some of it is doctors just not wanting to go into family medicine.

It's helpful to know what bull#### news sites are going to be used to try and push narratives in the future if nothing else.
