Hilarious how the fans and media thought it was just a simple upcoming Cup win for them.
Bob had them winning 53 games right after game 7. Will be back in the Finals and sweep whatever team they got.
They forgot the all important about winning a cup, you need to make the playoffs first.

The oldest team in the league with zero depth is not going on a 16 game win streak. Also needs to be noted that they have had an absolute muffin of a schedule to start the year and are still out of a playoff spot.

Man… American Thanksgiving and a bountiful cornucopia of comedic material. The Sure Fire Seven (and that’s not including the best player in the league without a goal), Skinnermarinky-doo and Knobby too!

First goal, Ekholm gives up on the physical battle behind the net. The Oilers drift around lazily in their own end ignoring Galligher out front for the easy tip in. The Oilers scream can we get a save. That one was not on the goalie, watch that goal every Oiler player had zero effort.
second goal - Draisaitl half asses the physical battle on the boards and loses and then just kind of meanders. Meanwhile every Oiler backs off of the puck carrier who passes it over for the goal by Guhle who snaps it by a napping Pickard
Ekholm who is suppossed to be their best defenseman is literally too slow to keep up to the play. The Oilers looked lazy without the puck losing battles all over the ice.
Pickard was decent with a .917 svpct, but it doesn't matter as the Oilers didn't score.
That . . . is . . . a very . . . bad . . . slow . . . team.

I'll bet that the Oilers go at least 1 game under .500.

Why is this surprising anyways? We knew the Pk took a massive hit when they got rid of the players that made it good.
I have no idea what they tried to accomplish on defence but it’s on par with us and that’s not a good thing.
The only surprising thing is the PP going to ####s.

Pp is not a surprise. Can only be ridiculous for so many years untill it starts to normalize...
...which, for a team that lives and dies by it, can be a massive hit..

Agreed, I actually think the Flames defense group is actually better and deeper than what the Oilers have. It is close with Andersson/Weegar vs Ekholm/Bouchard, but the bottom 2 pairs the Flames are far deeper and more talented.

with one team competing for the cup and the other trying** (I know I know) essentially to throw the season
don't even bother with prospects- although the Oilers do possess the rarest of all offensive beasts

I’m taking my guys over those 2. Elkholm is decent but Bouchard is a tire fire defensively.
Another -3 tonight. Bouchard without the offence is pretty much useless. Like your job title is a defenceman. The least you can do if your offence dries up is you know defend lol.
Bahl would be their 2nd best player at the moment.

I'd trade Andersson for McDavid 1 for 1.
