I wonder if Horvat can be had? He seems like a player that would fit well with Sutter. I know we're not in a position to be buying right now, but Huberdeau - Horvat - Lindholm seems like a potentially amazing first line.

I have no idea what it would take, and we won't be able to resign him unless someone like Mangiapane goes the other way, even then it will be tight.

Tough to work out a trade with a division rival even if they covet the player.

Another puck dominant, not exactly fast, goal scoring centre... isn't that what lindholm is? Don't see how Horvat changes the makeup of the team substantially, especially not at what it would cost.

This team is hard to watch as is. I haven't really enjoyed a game I've tuned into all season. Didn't even watch last night.

The team was just forced into a major retooling.

I'm pretty sure management will give it more than 30 games to see if the new group can gel before they undertake a voluntary retooling lol

I think having bottom 6 players with a cup ring is overvalued. Coleman isn't a bad player by any means, but I think we've seen the best of Coleman and he's not going to be any better. 4.9 mill for four more years, woof.

Coleman has been more productive in more limited roles. Anderson had 6 points in the Habs run and is a more expensive bottom 6 player.

I’ve been having these “thoughts” as well. I wonder if it’s just a matter of time before we see something like this.

I like it. Honestly, Dube should be no where near the second line. He has talent but just not enough.

Don't expect many goals from that third line.

I’d prefer some consistent production from the 1st line.

The three guys in 1st (by a mile), 5th, and 7th on the team in terms of scoring rate?

Yeah I don’t think they’d score at all.

If Ruzicka can drive a line, great. We haven’t seen it yet. And the other two are about as streaky as they come. Good at missing the net, though.

I think he has the potential to become a play driver.

We've seen some flashes so far this season of shifts where he kind of takes over but he just needs to be assertive on a consistent basis.

Really impressed so far for the most part though and wasn't expecting him to be this good. He has the potential to be an everyday 1st liner and we need more players like him.

I hope so too. He's looked impressive with Lindholm and Backlund. I just wonder if he's there yet.

You're doing it wrong. After a retooling, the team is supposed to proclaim total failure and blow everything up after 30 minutes, never mind 30 games.

Just throwing this in here but would you prefer him as a center or winger ?

Just to play the role of contrarian, Dube has 8 pts in his last 10. Don't forget how good he looked in the last quarter of last season, either. I think we're seeing him taking a step....

I don't really care as long as he's improving. I think there's more opportunity for him in the top 9 as a winger given the centers we have. I don't see the coach moving Lindy to the wing given how good he is at center.

I agree with this. He was by far the flames best player last night.

I don't think the Flames should be looking at rentals at this point, and I can't see how we can re-sign. He would be a good player under Sutter though. I only wish.
