Not 100% sure but when I went last week (Tuesday) here in Ottawa the price was 39.99. Stupid thing was they didn't even have the cards behind the glass so you could have technically scratched off the pin and copied down the number. Of course I didn't do that though cause of morals...and the fact I was with my gf, but it was stupid nevertheless.

Yeah, I've unlocked most of the boosts that I would need and the boost pack. I'll contact after the weekend.

I avoided this game because it was plagued by problems, focusing instead on two more dynasty seasons in NHL10.
Should I make the jump now, or play NHL10 until next season? I'm a BAGM and BAP junkie.....the only modes that I care about.

BaGM is the exact same as last year but with restricted free agents. BaPro is the exact same as last year but with the Memorial Cup. I have played a grand total of 30-40 hours (total, all modes) in the 5-6 months of ownership.
IMO, they did absolutely nothing to revolutionize these two modes (which I am also a slave to in this series). If you like it the way it is, with very minor adjustments, and want to try the new gameplay (which is falsely advertised as physics based because everything is still animations) then go for it. If you don't care about online play then buy it used somewhere and forgo the online pass code. I think you can still download rosters without it, but I'm not sure.

After playing this, I haven't touched NHL 11 since. It is simply amazing. The gameplay is exceptional, the graphics are excellent, the soundtrack is excellent, and the Manager mode is the best I have ever seen in a video game ever. Not only can you create custom teams and jerseys, you can also design a custom stadium to play in! Hell, you can customize the way your crowd sounds based on the country you play in. I could go on and on about this game, but it has more than made up for the bitter disappointment NHL 11 is for me.
This pic is for the PC, but it's on Xbox and PS3 as well.

^^^If I even remotely enjoyed soccer I would give it a try. Plenty of people have good things to say about it.

I heard for Soccer FIFA is the way to go now. Blows PES out of the water. I played FIFA 10 and it was a lot of fun, haven't tried PES though.

i read reviews on both and it does sound like fifa 11 might be better especially considering there is a wider variety of teams available for you to choose from

I find the gameplay in FIFA 11 a little robotic, but it is also a great game. I think PES has a better manager mode though.

Same. I've heard virtually no negative comments. Plus, I'm sure you can actually DO something in roster trading (especially compared to NHL 11...still only 2 trades in 4 seasons...).

I'll be honest - I had my heart absolutely set on PES 2011 until I saw just how little league/team licensing was in place.
8.5 out of 10 with all the leagues/players (FIFA)
OR
9.5 out of 10 with modest (minimal) leagues/players (PES)
Wasn't an easy choice. I've opted to go with FIFA11 instead. Still appreciate the nod to PES!

Considering how much of a crapshoot the drafting system is (still too hard to spot and draft blue chippers, my 2nd or 3rd round pick will have a higher overall than my 1st rounder most drafts) the CPU overvalues draft choices.
I moved out Kris Russell and a 3rd for Kris Letang just last week in Be a GM. Just make sure you only trade picks one year at a time so you leave yourself the ability to fire out offer sheets.
Be a GM mode really needs overhauling.
