I disagree. This teams biggest problem in the last olympics was goal scoring. We need the guys who can put the puck in the net to put the puck in the net. The comment " we need him to be hard to play against and physical" has to apply to everybody not just Iggy.

So it was an insult?
I'm pretty sure they want every guy on the team to be "hard to play against and physical", and not just Iginla.
This is biggest hockey team ever put together. The coach isn't holding one guy to a different standard.
Iginla played most of the game on the first line and got a hat-trick. All this yammering about his ice-time and Babcock's supposed lack of respect for him doesn't make sense.

After the third goal, I started and Iggy chant at a bar on Granville street in Vancouver. I wasn't sure if anyone would join, but the entire place joined in!!
It was epic, can't believe I got an entire Vancouver bar to chant Iggy!
Only Iggy could get such love, what a guy.

Luongo wasn't even tested at all, I think he had one shot that he might have had to try on. Which is good because we all know he is a lazy goalie.
He did his job, played against the plugs and gave Broduer time to adjust, now its time to get Canada's real #1 goalie out there, put MAF on the bench and get 7uongo up in the press box where he belongs. Or he could be the water boy, maybe towel down Iginla's visor inbetween shifts.
"Geee whiz Mr. Iginla, that sure was a nice shot!"
"Thanks kid, hey grab me a towel will ya?"
"Sure thing Iggy.. I mean.. can I call ya Iggy, Mr. Iginla.. Sir?"
"Haha.. you bet kid, you bet.."
*ruffles Luongo's hair*
"Oh god WTF IS THAT? ITS LIKE TRYING TO GRAB HOLD OF A NORTHERN PIKE, SWEET JESUS KID WHAT DO YOU GOT IN THERE? NO WONDER THERE IS AN OIL SHORTAGE! SHOULDN'T YOU BE ON TEAM SWEEDEN WITH THE REST OF YOUR PLUG TEAM MATES ANYWAY?"

Was it just me, or were they playing that horrible "Olé! Olé! Olé!" European soccer song after every Canada goal last night? I'm sorry, but that song has NO PLACE in hockey. Get rid of it please.

And Glencross could have had a hat trick against Norway too!!!
Iggy wasn't really tested either! (It's not like he was battling through tough coverage all night like he does for the Flames)
When is it going to set in people?
All of the Team Canada players are on the same team, and are competing against the same opponents!
***f..., that looks so obvious when it's written out... when is it going to become obvious to SOME people around here?***
Iginla had a STELLAR game tonight... Luongo made EVERY save possible, including two or three really good ones... Crosby... Heatly... Getzlaf .... Doughty.... Keith.......
and on and on we go...
This is an ALL-star team folks... other than some generally disorganized play in the first period, our guys dominated every shift of the game.
I'm behind every single one of them... 100%.
Oh... and although there has been some good reading here tonight...I almost gave up while scrolling through about HALF A DOZEN PAGES of "IGGY!!!!!!" posts. (not to mention the randomly sprinkled trade suggestions of questionable intelligence, the forlorn wanting of playmaking linemates here for Iginla, and ignorant insults for Perry, Pronger, Luongo, Niedermeyer etc.)
GO CANADA!!!!
SWISS CHEESE SANDWICH COMING RIGHT UP!!!!!!! YUMMMMMMM!

So, why does the NHL site not have Iginla with 3 goals? It's pretty clear that it was tipped.
