I'd expect that you should stock up at least 2 cases of Mountain Dew, and 4 bags of Doritos.

For those that think the game play in "normal" is a measurement of the game itself, think again. Heck, even in normal I got caught with my pants down a a couple times and paid for it.
Nightmare gameplay is quite different, and as Komskies alluded to, Hell will be different again. Let alone Inferno!!!!

So here is my brain fart moment:

If you have NOT played through normal mode, don't read this.

Apparently my friends and I are extremely slow because it took us that long to clear Act 1. Are you skipping all the lore, conversations and mini-dungeons or something to do it that fast?

Fastest teams to do it initially were 7 hours. I would expect you could do it in 6 only if twinked and you knew what to expect or each of the harder fights.

I'm a bit ahead of you at lvl 45, and I do about 1200 with a single weapon but one hell of a good shield (500 DF, + 88 Dex + 70 Vit) in act III and I'm just walking right through enemies at the moment.

How has everyone else fared in the auction house?
I've made about 100K gold thus far from it.

what's a good pricing guide? i haven't sold anything yet due to either my items being not good enough or my prices too high. i'm only selling yellows since i don't see the blue items being worth it, but no takers yet

how are you guys buying in the auction house, are you using buy out or bidding?
also I am having trouble finding stuff at reasonable prices in general, are you just sorting through the lists...

btw, just finished act 1, but I am gonna go through the butcher again, I was with a barbarian who just speed ran through it, while I ended up dying on the butcher and just happened to collect the experience while he beat the guy....

was there a cp group on battle.net as well?

You can add us and we can play together.. As far as auction house.. I just put in what I'm looking for ( i.e. 1 handed weapon , 75+ intelligence , 50+ vitality) , I search and then go from lowest buyout and find what I want.

One reminder for those playing through the first time.. when different level potions start dropping a lot, remember to change the kind of potion your hotkey uses.. I'd hardly used any potions at all so I was still on the first level of them, then when I hit one of the boss battles and went to use a potion and my life hardly increased.. a definite "oh crap" moment lol.
Fortunately was able to snag a health globe and finish the fight being a bit more careful.

I'm just using buyout. I bid on a couple things but by the time the auction was over I my character had leveled about 15 times and the item was useless. I couldn't seem to sort by time to see if auctions were ending sooner.

im kind of worried that the auction house will suck once they open it to real money.. i think people will only list things for money instead of gold

Why?

Blizzard takes a 15% cut, plus $1 from each RMAH sale. That means nothing will be on sale for less than $1.15 at any point. For $1.15+, it better be a pretty good item to warrant posting for RM vs gold. Plus, who will post an item for a 25 cent profit? You are likely looking at a realistic floor of $1.75-$2.00 for items. That leaves a ton on the gold AH.

I am guessing the bulk of the items for sale will be in the $3-5 range, with some ultra sought after items going for double digits (or higher).
