Trading Andersson isn’t to sewer the season. I don’t think it will have much impact at all actually. Trading Andersson is cashing in on an asset when his value is at the highest in my mind. If that leads to the team sinking so be it, this wasn’t a playoff team to begin with.

Trading Andersson would definitely be throwing in the towel on the season. They only have one other top 4 dman in Weegar and they would have to play Bean or Pachal 20 minutes a night instead of Andersson. They’d get caved.

Well Andersson isn’t really pushing play either. He’s negative across the board xGF differential in Corsi. It may get a bit worse but how much worse? Wolf is making the saves.

We need to do what’s best for this teams long term. Holding out hope for a 8th place finish doesn’t move this franchise forward. You always worry if they do make the playoffs that Craig gets the call from Switzerland that it’s time to go all in.

a factor if they win 2 rounds, certainly possible but IMO they seem to be showing the effects of 2 long runs and other teams will be hungrier

general point is get on with your lives...the pick will be the pick. Flames have 3 firsts and will give one away, not a franchise killer.

The more games the Flames win the worse it will be for some Flames fans. Weird but true sentence.

For the Flames to end up 11th based on current paces of teams that's 86 points. As teams decide to sell the pace likely slows to like 83-84. That's 37 points in 41 more games. Only the Sharks, Blackhawk, Predators, and Sabres have played at or below that.

At this point finding more wins and hoping Conroy can find some lower cost guys like Sutter did in 04 to add who are more than rentals and don't really cost that much to trade for.

Yeah because getting swept in 7 days like ve Anaheim is so enjoyable. Rather have that. Not a shot at elite talent who can change the result into sending other teams packing.

Imagine playing a 1 seed and a Cale Makar appears and flips the series and the 1 seed sinks into #### and you go onto to win a cup in a few seasons.

The Flames don’t have a NCAA dman right now, if Parekh goes NCAA next year that storyline may play out.

Point taken though. However, I think we have to be realistic - FLA is going to get stronger as the season goes on, and no one would be surprised if they have another deep run. Meanwhile, the path is going to get harder and harder for the Flames, as teams ramp it up in the 2nd half.

The spread is 6 right now, but I would put the over/under at 10.5 for year-end, and I'll take the over.

And again, if the Flames were to get bottom 10, the spread will be 15+ and possibly 20+

Just like your dumb Flames becoming an expansion team.

Becoming an expansion team is the better strategy.

You wanting to sewer the team who are you? Aarongravey or Aaron Sutter.

But that wont get them into the top 10.

That ship has sailed barring a complete collapse by Wolf.

I don’t think it is just me, every Flames fan who is hoping this team wins games is secretly hoping the team folds and a new expansion team comes in its place. It is a gamble since Canada has not had an expansion team awarded to it since 1990 but it is a gamble worth taking.

I think you are right, there are two groups. Loyal Flames fans hoping for losses and traitorous Flames fans hoping for wins so they the team leaves Calgary and we get an expansion franchise.

I still encourage you to learn how to use the quote function, then when people make outlandish statements like “I hope the team leaves Calgary” you can call them on it.

I would love you to understand hockey Darryl. That’s why you didn’t work out as GM probably one of the worst ever. Barry Trotz level bad.

Keep using Vegas as a comparison on how to build teams.

Backing into the playoffs and 8th place runs are so much fun.

What should we call the expansion team? The Vikings ?

We're not getting a top 5 pick this year so #### it might as well play some playoffs.

Always next year to tank I guess.

If they are going to miss this year they better try to slide into the bottom 10 though.

Missing playoffs and losing our pick will be very deflating for our orgsnization from the players to the fans.

Same thing with keeping Rasmus.

If they want to keep him fine, but they better have a rock solid plan to get us out of mediocrity without bottoming out.

Wow, the Flames are only 4 points behind the Panthers with two games in hand.

Only two spots separate the picks after tonight's action
