Posting that in the "other thread" = Good

Hmmm I was thinking that I'd add it here as it actually adds something for the discussion for this particular model of phone which was just released (and it's respective durability). Though, I can see where you are coming from - and certainly wasn't going to post it here, in the fanboy thread AND the S3 thread.

To be honest, I imagine that a lot of people avoid the fanboy thread outright.

It's all good. I probably made more of it than was needed, but I just started imagining a flood of S3 drop test videos defending their phone. I agree with you on the "most people avoiding the fanboy thread" though. I think I've posted a couple times, but some of the crap in there is too ridiculous even for me.

Anyway, sorry.

No worries, no need to be!

I'm sure you can tell that I tend to ramble and think out loud a lot on the forums too. All good.

EDIT: And the image in my head of peope making videos of dropping their phones to defend their phone seems kinda silly me, hehe!

Anyone with the phone yet?
Interested on hearing reviews of the ear buds.

The durability of the actual phone and the comfort of the ear buds are two of the things I've been curious about.

With Apple's billions and so many competitors with comparable/more innovative products, I don't think it's unreasonable to hope for something interesting this time around. Especially since they just coasted with the 4s.

Just got the phone and tried activating it with telus customer support with my old phone. She said the system was very slow but we were about 90% of the way done the activation when the call was dropped, and now I can't make phone calls to anyone at all, including them, and the new phone is still not activated. Hope they get their activation system together soon because it appears that my old phone was deactivated. Anyone else have this issue with Telus?

I think that the one difference I notice the most is the touch screen. As opposed to touching a glass screen with something behind it on my 3GS, I feel like I'm touching the actual screen if that makes sense? The way they've combined the layers together is impressive.

Soon as another company can manufacture a solid phone with lots of memory for my music, I'll be off the iPhone train. Especially with the BS they pulled at the store today, not letting us buy factory unlocked from Apple in person. Online orders only.

Are you kidding? I bought my S3 last week and the first thing I did was drag and drop 30 gigs of music onto a micro-SD card, inserted it into the back of the phone and I was off to the races with another 32 gigs free of storage internally in the phone. If I need more storage, I'll get a 64 gig micro-SD card.

The music player on the Samsung is amazing as well. They have a great genius-type feature that let's you choose 100+ song mixes based on your mood. I could never go back to a genius playlist now.

This was mentioned on their website, said Contract Only at the Apple Store.

SD cards are also insanely cheap these days. I just purhcased a 32 gig micro SD card for $20. You can buy multiple SD cards and have unlmited storage.
