thats the weird thing about it and the one thing that I do question.
I have a high speed highly accurate slap shot and high passing, I scored a ton of goals and got a ton of assists in my rookie year for the Oilers, and I never get pp time.
However I am a bit of a defensive errrr adventure and yet I'm always out on the penalty kill, I think its because I accidentilly block a lot of shots when I desparately try to dive out of the way.

What was the code for, just Winnipeg? I think my jersey's updated with the game update they released.

Updated league wide third jerseys. Patch added the Jets jerseys.
The code has not be released yet. In previous years it has normally been released around early December.

Now that the Islanders have released their 3rds are there any others we need to wait for?

My rebuilt Flames for the 2012/2013 season:
Toews - Stamkos - Iginla
Bartschi - Backlund - Skinner
Neiderriter - Jokinen - Bourque
Glencross - Byron - Moss
Letang - Bouwmeester
Brodie - Gio
Smith/Carson - DeHaan
Kipper
Irving
Callups for injuries:
F: Horak, Bouma, Johansen
D: Breen, Negrin
8mil capspace.
I wish this was reality.
Jokinen, Moss, Bourque, Smith/Carson likely on the way out next year (might try to aquire some more 1st round picks since I had to deplete some of those to get the lineup to how it is now)... and odds are Iggy will retire or something... but should be in good shape for a while.

In real life you'd have to seriously guy your franchise to get a hold of Toews and Stamkos.
I'd be curious what you gave up in trade as most of your core players are still in the lineup

I don't think I have any of the Flames 1st or 2nd round picks until 2017.
But I have acquired some other teams' picks to make up for it... mostly 2nds or later not many 1sts. I don't see them as that useful in Be a GM early on, when I put upgrade points into pro scouting and whichever one reduces injury duration... so my amateur scouting is hit or miss anyway, that missing out on a late 1st round pick doesn't make much of a difference vs a 2nd rounder.
As for players that are gone, off the top of my head:
Stajan
Hannan
- I think these two were part of the trade to get Stamkos... was the first trade I did so I don't remember all the details... pretty sure there were at least two 1st rounders shipped out too... and I think maybe one of the other guys below but don't recall who
Tanguay
Jackman
- these two and a 1st for Toews and a 3rd... just did this trade, both Tangs & Jackman had a good season but was going for more youth... this trade actually felt a bit more realistic for Chicago to be interested in as Toews was struggling a bit points-wise. (not anymore)
Hagman
Butler
Sarich
Stempniak
Babchuk
Karlsson
Kostopolous
Morisson
Mikkelson
PL3
Wahl
don't remember the trade specifics for those... but that's still quite a lot of turnover, although yes the "core" is pretty much intact. (I'm pretty sure due to EA giving them decent ratings since they're supposed to be the better players on the team... ie: videogame Bouwmeester is amazing)
As mentioned, planning some more overhaul this season / at the deadline / in the following summer... some guys due for raises, others probably letting go, promoting some guys from Abby... might make Irving the #1 & see what I can get for Kipper, etc.

draft picks would be the answer.....picks seem to be a crap shoot. I managed to get what turned out to be second overall pick in one trade but the guy has been a plug so far only reaching 73 overall after 4 years. Meanwhile some of my lower round picks from the same year have progressed a lot better

I've found if you manage to have a top 5 pick, if you either play the prospects game, or at least see the names of who your scout says to pick based on that game, that those guys at least have "B+" potential ratings. Which in reality, is a successful pick.
My 1st round pick last year, with another team's 8th overall pick, is currently a 67 overall rating, but an A+ offense, B+ defense, A- athleticism potential rating... problem is I forgot I didnt need to sign him to an entry level deal in the offseason, so now he's stuck on the 3rd/4th line in Abbotsford instead of in Jr.

From what i can remember he did have B+ potential or better ...I even made sure to give him 1st or 2nd line minutes in abby but he just never amounted to much. I did however get a lot of crappy trade offers for him.
I usually ended up using my picks to obtain good prospects from other teams (fyi, Larsson and Kulikov are beasts after about 2 years)

Some guy from North Korea who was never expected to be drafted and probably will never make the NHL

Protip: If you play the game, you can go into the player stats menu (I normally do after the game) and see the overall player ratings.
